This is what I found on the web. For what its worth.

Safety and Cleveland: There’s been plenty of concern about security at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland next week. Franklin County Sheriff Zach Scott announced last week he isn’t sending officers to help because of the concerns - and he’s not the only one.

But “the man in charge of the U.S. Secret Service does not mince words when assessing whether Cleveland Police are prepared for wh**ever happens during the Republican National Convention next week,” according to cleveland.com.

"They are ready," Secret Service Director Joseph P. Clancy .

As for threats? "As of today, there's no specific credible threat... We're not aware of a group or individual planning specifically to come to Cleveland to do harm,” Clancy said.

Open carry:"The New Black Panther Party, a 'black power' movement, will carry firearms for self-defense during rallies in Cleveland ahead of next week's Republican convention, if allowed under Ohio law, the group's chairman said," Reuters reporter Ned Parker writes.

"The plan by the group this weekend comes as police in Cleveland brace for an influx of groups that plan demonstrations before and during the p**********l nominating convention."

The cost: Meanwhile, “the State Highway Patrol has a busy — and increasingly expensive — tour of duty beginning Monday with the Republican National Convention in Cleveland," Dispatch reporter Randy Ludlow writes.

“The patrol has received authority to spend an additional $7.2 million in the coming year on ‘ security and investigations,’ including dignitary protection and responding to potential ‘ civil unrest.’”

New this morning: “Ohio’s status as a battleground state was underscored yet again by a new poll today showing that Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump remain deadlocked,” Dispatch Public Affairs Editor Darrel Rowland writes.

“At the same time, Trump has moved to narrow leads in Florida and Pennsylvania, states Clinton had led last month, a new Quinnipiac University poll of swing states shows.”

Breaking it down: “In Ohio, v**ers say by 47 percent to 37 percent that Trump is more ‘honest and trustworthy’ than Clinton,” Rowland writes.
