Slatten as most of you know is a Marine(once a Marine Always a Marine)
and as such is highly supportive of the Corps
Last November the tenth(the Corps birthday)
Slat, his lovely wife (the Sgt Major) and his friend an mentor "Poppa Gringo" Another Marine
attended a gathering to celebrate the Corps birthday
After several hours of celebration the three left and started back to Slats house
now Slat is not much of a drinker(although to hear him tell it he can put any Swabbie under the table with ease)
but at the celebration Slat had a few( tee many martoonies) and was quite inebriated
and of course was a little erratic driving(if you call weaving all over the road a little erratic)
about halfway home a cop pulled him over(himself a Marine)who knew Slat personally
"well Marine,"said the cop"It does look like you have been celebrating the Corps birthday"
Slat replied "well I guess I have had a few too many officer, but I'm really close to home now and i will be ok"
The cop said"I do believe you are right Slat, but I would say you have had far too many,I just picked up Poppa and your wife a mile back ,where they fell outta the car"

Sure it was. You just need to let it marinate a while...BB's are slow to sink in. He is, after all, a Swabbie.

I'm not sure I remember much from that particular evening, outside of toasting the Corps.....many times Jack may have had a hand in it, come to think of it.

As many more as the Sgt. Major allows me to survive...and, I'm sweating bullets daily as to how long that may (or may not) be.

BadBobby failed to point out that he spiked my sweet iced tea with Mr. Daniels, affectionately know as 'Jack' to the aforementioned BB.

I must admit to a certain conniving
when it pertains to my leatherneck friends
