To Enjoy Freedom...
To enjoy freedom, we have to control ourselves. ---- Virginia Woolf
Freedom is a funny thing. In a way, it makes life harder. It is true ; we are free to do whatever we want in life. (self will). However, every choice makes some kind of difference in our lives, ...... & in us (karma & consequence) !! Consequently, some choices make us happy & glad, and some choices bring us trouble ( unnecessary sorrow & pain ).
Today we can make much better choices. We can control our thoughts & our actions. We start by having control in little ways - we follow the law, pay the rent, make the bed every day. These choices put order in our lives. We eat right, exercise, and get enough sleep. These choices make us strong enough to live each day to the fullest. These kinds of simple, little choices set us free from poor or bad choices. Over time, we learn to do the next right thing.
Prayer for the Day
Higher Power, when I was drinking and drugging, I couldn't enjoy my freedom. I had no control over the little things in my life. Help me stay sober today that I may give good choices, order & freedom to my life.
Action for the Day
Today, I'll be grateful for having some control in my life. I will list five ways I am more free. Because today, I can control & take responsibility for, my thoughts & my actions.
