Trump Suggests Common Sense 'Profiling' in US to Stop Domestic Terrorism

By Fox News - June 19, 2016

Donald Trump suggested Sunday that the U.S. start “profiling” people inside the country to thwart terrorism, calling it a h**eful but “common sense” tactic, in the aftermath of recent terror attacks.

"I think profiling is something we're going to have to start thinking about as a country," Trump said on CBS' "Face the Nation." "I h**e the concept of profiling, but we have to start using common sense.”

The presumptive GOP p**********l nominee also argued that other countries, including Israel, profile “and they do it successfully.”

Trump, as he has frequently argued, said radical Islam groups are creating “big problems.”

However, he didn’t directly say those groups should be the sole focus of profiling -- a strategy in which individuals or groups are targeted for additional law-enforcement scrutiny because of race or other characteristics.

Omar Mateen, the shooter in the June 12 massacre at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Fla., was a radicalized Muslim and the subject of two FBI investigations into possible connections to terrorism.

Mateen pledged his allegiance to the Islamic State terror group, even during the attack in which he fatally shot 49 people and injured dozens of others inside the gay nightclub before being k**led by police.

This is not the first time Trump has made controversial comments related to terrorism and radical Islam, particularly after the Orlando attack and the 2015 Paris and San Bernardino, Calif., strikes, all connected to ISIS and radicalized Muslims.

Trump, a billionaire businessman and first-time candidate, told the Fox Business Network in October 2015 that the U.S. should “absolutely” shut down mosques in the fight against ISIS, if it had the legal authority and as France and Britain have attempted.

And he has been supportive of a post-9/11 effort between the FBI and the New York City police department in which mosques were put under surveillance. The effort apparently ended in 2014 under Democratic Mayor Bill de Blasio.

"You’re going to have to watch and study the mosques, because a lot of talk is going on at the mosques," Trump told MSNBC in November. "In the old days, meaning a while ago, we had great surveillance going on in and around mosques in New York City.”

In the wake of the 2015 attacks and after the Orlando massacre, Trump called for a temporary ban on all Muslims coming into the United States, until the government improved its vetting process.

The idea was widely criticized last year and last week.

“I’ve talked before about how this approach is un-American. It goes against everything we stand for as a country founded on religious freedom. But it is also dangerous,” said presumptive Democratic p**********l nominee Hillary Clinton, Trump’s likely general e******n rival.

And House Speaker Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis., last week repeated his disapproval of such a ban, saying it was not “in our country's interests.”

Let me ask a simple question. If a man walks by your house and drops garbage in your yard several time a month do you call him a street cleaner or a litterer. Either way you are profiling him. All you thin skinned people that believe Political correctness solves anything just have to look at Orlando to see the effects of Political Correctness..

Don-Trump is intent on giving this country back to Americans regardless of who might be offended. I agree with him and we need to do what it takes to get it done. I just with the establishment would get behind Trump or at least have an honest discussion with him about his chances of winning the general e******n. This BS of unseating him at the convention ticks me off. Rumors are that Jeb Bush is behind some of that underhanded crap. Ryan and his open border crap needs to join Hillary as she is the one he is helping. Good Luck America !!!

I'm not exactly sure why America, Don, is just accepting that the BILLIONS - that's BILLIONS of VACANT ACRES in the Middle-East has not been offered to the escaping un-vetted, undocumented Muslim, "refugee/terrorists," to save EVERYBODY the expense and problems moving them half-way around the planet. BILLIONS of VACANT acreage in Saudi Arabia, Chad, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Egypt, Turkey, Sudan, Libya, Mali, Niger, Mauritania, Algeria, Iran, etc. It wouldn't be because all those countries have already been "dominated" by [radical] Islam would it??? "WORLD DOMINATION???" Hummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. I v**e "WE" get our government to build non-assimilating housing all over the Middle East. It sure would be less expensive than the American taxpayers paying for the t***sportation, life-time non-assimilating housing, Welfare, SNAP, education, medical, Mosques, "training" camps and English lessons [LOL], in America!!! Hell, why didn't I think of THAT??? GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO TRUMP!!!

A ban of Muslims coming into this country IS in our country's best interest. How could it not be? It's been done before to protect the people of the United States. Do our politicians know anything at all??? Or, do they just not want us protected?

Just saying "NO MORE," jim, is not as good as giving an alternative plan; and certainly instead of t***sporting the out-cast, un-vetted, undocumented "refugee/terrorists," half-way around the planet [at American taxpayer expense], just creating "safe-zones," in the BILLIONS of VACANT ACRES in the Middle East would be 100% better [and cheaper] than creating hundreds of non-assimilating "no-go" zones in our Western free-market civilizations!!! GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO TRUMP!!!
