This is pretty funny! These guys are talented........

"Life is good...it's that simple"

(Particularly for those living at home, in their old bedroom, and mom & pop still PAY all the bills)

Our 20-something years were more simple, (I think) happier times even if they were harder. Today's Millennials are not only "Snowflakes" they are "Cream puffs" who will be more than happy to bring about the results depicted in "Atlas Shrugged."

I wholeheartedly agree with you on both of those points. They only seem to see what is in their hand and pay no attention to what is going on around them. They also want everything to cost them nothing.

I remember that time very well. Once I had done something wrong and knew it would be spanking time. So, I put a book inside my pants. The first hit by the hand , I did not feel but then it became paddle time and for that I am sorry to have used that book. I received more just because of that book. Never-never did that again or anything to receive that punishment.

Kids tend to learn things the HARD WAY. But, I learned, early on, even if I thought I might get a spanking - tell the t***h and you may luck out. I found that to be true in my household at least.

One time I thought a spanking was brewing, my mom asked if I broke something. I told the t***h - it really was an accident, and I did not get spanked. To this day, t***h does reign supreme with me.

That was also true in my growing-up household.

It's like it was not only a different time, but even a different place in space.
A time when dreams came true, they won out even after heartbreak, hardships, and tears.
Memories!

When looking back at memories we often forget that things actually weren't as good as we thought. After all, we were young and not laden down with the responsibilities of parents. We do tend to recall only the pleasant memories. Dreams still can come through if one dares to dream.

The only unpleasant memories I have are the ones where I did not accomplish what I had intended to do. But most of those I later fulfilled.

I envy you (I think). When I was young there were some accomplishments that could not be fulfilled and later were not as important due through none of my fault. Some I was able to finagle through during that period but many had no bearing on my life as I grew up. I found that as I matured, many desires I'd had as a kid were replaced with others. Overall, I believe I've accomplished much and had opportunities that allowed me to play with the wind. I do have some wonderful memories along with those I would have preferred to forego but which gave me many lessons in living.

I was lucky to have a great family, great friends and most of all great teachers though out all of my school years and afterwards. At the time there was one teacher I was not fond of but she steered me in the right direction. I think that most of us have had opportunities missed but those taught most us the lesson of life.

I don't recall an instructor I disliked until I reached college. I was in a math class and, in those days, not too many females were interested, or even considered eligible in math. But this instructor, Mr.Waterman (I will never forget his name) decided that I was in that class to catch me a husband. When we reviewed our assignments, he always made a comment that he would believe would diminished me and my g****r. That is - until the first exam WHICH I ACED! It was quite satisfying to see him keep his mouth shut from then on. I also aced the course!
