Obama Chicago-style extortion at its finest!

It is no secret that President Barack Obama’s administration has no love for the Second Amendment and is trying its best to strip away rights and disarm as many Americans as possible.

Although the Congress has held the line and refused to pass any of the progressive left’s proposed gun control legislation, Obama has shown that he will just go around them, enacting gun control through executive action and regulation.

One of the main targets of Obama’s disarmament policies has been our nation’s returning veterans, many of whom have been arbitrarily declared “incompetent” by the Veteran’s Administration and stripped of their Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms, without due process.

Of course, gun rights advocacy groups have pushed back against the disarming of our veterans, so much so that Obama’s VA is now trying to walk back their unconstitutional gun grabs, offering to let veterans “buy back” their gun rights by voluntarily giving up all other veteran’s benefits.

“This is simply unbelievable. On the one hand the [Veterans Administration] and the FBI have found veterans to be mentally ill and too dangerous to be allowed to own firearms, while on the other hand allowing these allegedly dangerous people to buy their firearms rights back,” said Michael Connelly, executive director of the United States Justice Foundation.

According to WND, Connelly added, “This is illegal and is called extortion.”

The VA is now informing those veterans who were arbitrarily stripped of their rights that they can appeal the decision, and have their rights restored, but will lose eligibility for any and all benefits for them and their families while the appeals process d**gs on, which can last for years.

This is wrong on so many levels, and something must be done to bring this policy to a swift end.

Furthermore, those officials responsible for implementing this policy and overseeing the involuntary disarming of our nation’s veterans must be held accountable for their unconstitutional and un-American actions.

Little Ball of Hate

While I don't agree with what they are doing, they are following federal law. From what I've read, these Veterans have been declared financially incompetent, because they cannot manage their own money. Whether that is true with every case, and I doubt it is, I don't believe that any court would strip them of their second amendment rights just because they can't manage their money. I seriously doubt that the majority of these Veterans are a danger to themselves, or others, and should be allowed to posses a firearm.

They are our friends and will have our backs!
