WoW! It is truly troublesome that our manufacturing base has been, and continues to be hollowed out. Of course, those who advocate for this, the globe- trotting g*******t, have no particular allegiance to anything except profit. National borders for them are an inconvenience. One wonders, those of us old enough to remember, what would happen if America found itself faced with another war similar to WWII. The awesome power of Americas manufacturing now, nonexistent? I can guarantee, at some point, there will be another war. The question: Will nuclear weapons be deployed? In-that-case, a manufacturing base is, probably, ir-relevant.

Her overburdened resources and a population in the billions is a driving force , seeking out new avenues for expansion, and agriculture.
China will need to feed all those citizens, and without new pastures to plow, they won't be able to.
