You, no doubt, mean in a hog-calling contest.

He isn't a redneck, he is a Liberal with a corn pone accent.

Funny, I didn't think a redneck was political.

All rednecks are political, and they are correct more often than you might think. They just can't spell it.

I thought rednecks were innovative, resilient, refuse, reuse, upcycle kind of folks.

They possess all of those attributes, plus many others that do not require accurate spelling. I used to be a redneck, until I learned to spell. Now I am a redneck with a very good education, which is not the same. Since everyone else is hyphenated, you may refer to me as an Appalachian-American.

Your italics didn't work.
And, Loki? That is the second time this weekend that you have used that line.

My italics work just fine. I used that line twice in case there are some who are unaware of the sobriquet.

I must be getting old.

This is what a Redneck sounds like in real life. They don't mince words and don't polish their vernacular. I live in Texas, and most of my father's relatives sound just like him in conversation.

When he talks to his granny, I'll bet he tones it down.

Maybe even his mom, who must be close to my age... or at least 50 if he is 35.

There are rednecks....and then there are REDNECKS. I admire the ones "you" speak of. That "other" kind....not so much. They feel they can hunt anywhere, anytime w/o permission, no matter how many times you voice your objection, they treat their animals horribly, and a host of other things as well. Now, if I could just figure out which ones were flying their mysterious, but VERY large, obviously VERY expensive drones over my property at night, there would be some serious conversation had. I didn't much care for the one that came at me one night. Maybe, someone took objection to the red hot vocabulary I was flinging about. lol

So....you are a Renaissance Appalachian-American?
