The historian Rick Shenkman is editor and publisher of the indispensable website History News Network. I’m a fan and recently had the pleasure of reading his latest book, Political Animals: How Our Stone-age Brain Gets in the Way of Smart Politics.

Shenkman himself possesses quite a highly evolved brain, but he nonetheless admits he has his own share of stone-age brain cells. However, there is no club in his hand at the moment, just this book, which frankly, packs all the wallop he needs. If you want to know why this is the year of Trump, you’ve got to read it. If you want to know why millions of Republicans still believe Barack Obama is a Muslim, you’ve got to read it. Even if you want to hold on and remain an optimist, you’ve got to read it.


NOTE: If you are determined to remain ignorant, be very careful to not read it, but always claim you have read it.

Now if you want to really know why Trump is gaining so much ground, all you have to do is take a look at his latest Authoritarian decision, w/ this bathroom debacle.
It's stupid agenda driven moves like this that has people running for Trump from both isles.

RESPONSE:

Check with some reliable sources and fact check every important pronouncement by all the politicians and don't be distracted by bathroom issues. Trump has discovered that we have very short attention spans and can be easily distracted from real issues.

Trump and his con are being revealed and the informed and intelligent are stampeding away from his attempts to manipulate those low information and emotionally driven.

What decision would you make if your opinions had any consequences?

I would object strongly and effectively if the schools or our president decided my two girls, high school students, were required to take showers with boys. However, that is not what our national chief administrator that we elected has decided we do.

One high school avoided the problem by allowing those who chose to do so to use the bathroom in the nurse's office. Now they focus on
Trump and his con. The more you know about Trump, the more you will be able to see his con and its predictable effects on us.

It would be good if you would look up the word, authoritarian in the dictionary as it appears you don't know what it means.

Sorry about the title. I meant to say, OUR president, but when I have said, OUR president, in the past, I have often seen a mass pants wetting and tantrums by you wingers. You all seem to forget that the majority of v**ers elected him to administer OUR government and, after four years of his competent administration, we elected him again. So, if you can control your pants wetting and tantrums, I will return to referring to Obama as OUR president until Hillary comes aboard. Can you make a hospital joke out of that?
