CALL OF THE WILD - TINJA AND HER DOGS

Tinja Myllykangas is a young woman who traded city life to a wilderness hut in Lapland.

She now runs a sled dog safari business and shares a deep bond with the wild.

With her 40 husky dogs and a few horses, Tinja lives in the northern part of Finnish Lapland,
180 miles from the nearest town. To her, urban buzz and flashy goods don’t compare with the
vast expanse of untouched natural wilderness on her doorstep.

Tinja’s favourite times of year are slightly unorthodox.

– I love the winter. The colder it is, the more energised I get. The darkness isn’t bad at
all; even during the Polar Night, the dark period we call “kaamos”, you get a lot of light
from the moon and the stars, she reckons.

Beautiful scenery...Obviously content in her own being........I love the snow but don't think I would like it for the length of time she has it, that's for sure...

SF Bay?? How dang beautiful is that!!!! Best sour dough bread anywhere as well as Salmon.......There's a little restaurant, name escapes me right now, that you take the ferry across to and they have the bestttttttttt of everything you could ever want..

Of course so do manyyyyy of the restaurants there..

Alcatraz still haunts me to this day..It was like feeling the ill in that place when I did the tour once....The sound of those doors closing must have been hell itself..Rightly deserved if you made it to that place...

Full of history its a place I would not go back and see again..

Born in Oakland, that's "The East Bay", was raised there and I raised my family there, never when back after I left in '79... Don D.

I lived in San Diego and the law firm I did some work was not far from the base...Right on the bay as a matter of fact..I also lived in Bonita Springs 11 miles from the border...Anywhere near there meant trouble....Wouldn't go even close to it by myself, that's for sure...

You would know better than I but I would see them walking around a lot and they sure knew where the bars are down there...loolollololol

San Fran is just so pretty to me Bobby..Loved Fisherman Wharf area, and walking into all the little unique shops they had..If I lived there I'd likely weigh 300 lbs.. I did not like Alcatraz, but the rest was pretty cool to me....The trolley was a trip for sure, literally and figuratively.............
