What’s notable about the results is that where once such sentiments were perceived as the preserve of the “extreme right”, they are now felt across the political spectrum. Back in 2010, 39 per cent of Socialist Party v**ers felt Islam was too prominent within French society — a majority of 52 per cent feel this to be the case six years on.

Le Figaro says the poll confirms a “total rejection” of the religion in France, after its capital in 2015 saw two deadly Islamist terror attacks.

Seventeen people were murdered over three days in January, including most of the writers of satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo. Then, on November 13th a series of coordinated attacks claimed 130 innocent lives, including 89 people shot dead at the Bataclan theatre.

The poll also found that 47 per cent of people consider the presence of Muslim communities a threat to France’s identity, up five points from 2010. However, 19 per cent believe Muslims culturally enrich the country.

Surveys by Ifop going back to 1989 have consistently measured attitudes toward aspects of Islam in French society, and the change over the years paints a picture of a nation whose tolerance has worn thin.

In 1989 33 per cent of French people responded that they were “in favour” of building mosques, while the figure today is just 13 per cent . That year, 31 per cent were opposed to wearing the veil in general, a number that in 2016 has risen to 63 per cent.

French people’s growing distrust of Islam’s role in the country comes as data from across Western Europe shows that rather than becoming more assimilated over time, the views of second and third generation Muslims have become increasingly hardline.

Anouar Kbibech, Chairman of the French Council of the Muslim Faith, responded to the survey’s results saying that negative perceptions of Islam cause distress to Muslims living in France.

The French, he comments, must look upon Muslims as full citizens. He noting that in the past Muslims demanded a right to “difference”, Le Figaro quips that now the Muslims in France will demand a right to “indifference”.

It also has mystified me. It has taken the French too long to start to see the light. One would have thought the p***e in all things French would have prevented this from taking hold. How long before even liberal America begins to feel the pinch!? Have we already waited too long. They (Muslims) have one plan only...the destruction of Christians and Christianity. It's working! Our churches are conforming and that's scary! Our colleges are conforming! A conservative Supreme Court Judge is murdered and got almost no notice aside from an obituary. Joan Rivers is murdered because she saw something and said something on her way into a hospital from which she never walked out. A strange man appear ed and did an autopsy. This is beginning to sound like a "B" movie that no one would believe.

When, I think is started..But like most things, after the fact than before..Until BO is out of office this country will continue to "conform" as you say..

Hopefully Trump will get us back on course..!!!

When I grew up life was simpler. Dad worked at a job and mom stayed at home and raised us kids. As far as the politics do it was a slow process that took a number of years to accomplish but once the DNC and RNC realized what power they had and then collaborated with big business and each other it was good by small guy. I can remember when I first started v****g that the people that we were choosing actually stood for something and now they just mouth the words but are very short on action.

Happiest part of my life was when I was young. There were not much temptations. Parents loved their children, no drugs, no Islam. We honored and respected our parents and our neighbors helped one another. We recited the Pledge of Allegiance in schools. We were safe wherever we went, no rapists, no drug addicts, no terrorist Islam lurking behind you.

On the contrary, the children now are brainwashed by their parents, teaching them how to say bad language on the streets to protest for more free bees. When they grow up they become social problems. Unfortunately these are the products of the free loaders sucking the system to empower their dependency to the hard working American people. Protesters strongest weapon is the word "Race".

I feel nostalgic of the olden days.
May God bring us back to him.

Under such circumstances, we don't stand a chance, but I believe we can demand something different. We must all stand together. Why can't we write in our v**es. One of the requirements is that you must be able to read and write English. Am I correct.

One paragraph says it all. Dad went to work and Mom stayed home and brought up the children with healthy bodies and healthy minds. No latch/key kids! No canned soup and peanut butter sandwiches. It made a better world by far. And maybe the politicians grew up more honest. Who knows but that time is just a happy memory. Thanks for the memory.

One way to produce a better v****g system would be to have absentee b****ts sent to all registered v**ers; a month in advance; to allow v**ers the opportunity to research the candidates positions. No more lines, or waiting to v**e. V**e from your home and deposit your b****t in the U. S. Mail; going to V**er Central, by the deadline imposed; for supervised v**er counting against v***r r**********ns. One v**e per living registrant. Minimizing the effects of political machines or organizations trying to control the v**ers or the counts. Insure an accurate count with a paper trail, that is checked for accuracy. If you haven't received a b****t or spoiled one, simply go to the Post Office and get another blank b****t. A less costly, more accurate efficient system, that is helpful to the infirmed and to Seniors. Too easy? Kindly remember to Execute the One Term Only Political Corruption Solution and "V**e Incumbents OUT!" Thank You.

I've been thinking about this all day. On the face of it, seems a good plan. The problem could be "they" who send b****ts out, copy machines, and the U.S.Mail. We don't know who or what to trust anymore.

muslims learn to play a country by the laws of the country. when their population becomes large enough they will "request " more for their religious freedoms , to educate others to their beliefs, their way of life , their culture . this is to assimulate children to be tolerant of their differences. and to pray on their uncertainty and convert them into their "religion" the main goal of any muslim is to convert every one to islam. they say that they are a religion of peace. THE ONLY TIME ISLAM WILL BE A RELIGION OF PEACE IS WHEN THE INTIRE WORLD IS CONVERTED , INS***ED , OR K**LED OFF SO THERE IS NO OTHER RELIGION ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH. I truly believe that all muslims and their converts should be sent back to the middle east. that is their home land and they should stay there. they don't even get along with each other . you don't believe like I do you must die. no you die . just k**l each other all the time. yet you want to trust them here? when I know I don't believe in their way. brain washed from infancy .

That's what the paper trail is for, to check against the registered v**er lists for accuracy; in order to produce "trusted" count results. "V**e Incumbents OUT!"
