Let's Debate Policy

I love to debate - as a young teenager (early to mid '70's) before I even knew what a Democrat or Republican really "was", my (east coast) Democrat step-father was engaging my sister and me almost daily in debate, challenging us to critically think about and defend (with facts and logic) the beliefs and values we were raised with (Republican mom, dad and grandparents...although again, I really wasn't aware of this). The debates went well into the night, were oftentimes loud and passionate (he was a Bostonian/New Yorker...it was ENCOURAGED, lol) but because no one or no idea was insulted or ridiculed, it allowed all of us involved to have an open mind to accept new ways of thinking and allowed us the freedom to CHANGE the way we thought after being presented with new facts or views. The end result was that my sister and I do not v**e "party"...we look at every canidate's ideas and proposed policies and choose the one who makes the most sense to our way of critical thinking. We do not consider ANYONE "wishy-washy" or "flip-floppy" or deceitful if they discover new facts that change how they view an issue, we view them as critical thinkers.
I joined this site hoping to be able to engage in this type of debate and idea sharing, because I miss it as much as I miss my step-father and because even my life long, liberal Democratic friends on Facebook (who, ironically, loved my step-dad as much as we did) can't handle and are threatened by me having an opinion or belief different than theirs (funny, for over 40 years this was never an issue - only until Obama became president).
So, who will join me in this type of debate on this site? Who will present their facts passionately but without insult or ridicule no matter WHAT the subject/policy is or who it involves? BTW, while I am a strong supporter of freedom of speech and am fully against "Political Corectness", I know the difference and I have too much self respect to subject myself or stand by and let others be subjected to, h**eful verbal abuse.

That being said, I would like to post various policies of all the canidates running for president (without saying who's they are) for this type of debate.
My question is, should I bother?
