Today in History

Today in history, in 1945, Benito Mussolini was executed.

Today in 1789, the actual Mutiny on HMS Bounty occurred. Yep, there really was one, it wasn't just a Marlon Brando movie.

Marlon Brando was in the 1962 version.

I liked the Charles Laughton and Clark Gable 1935 version better.

My point being that lots of people think it was fiction, rather than a movie made about an actual historical event. Think what you will of Captain Bligh, he successfully navigated 4000 miles of open ocean in an open boat with about 18 crewmen who refused to join the mutiny. This was one HELL of a feat of seamanship.

Yes sir, Bligh was a phenomenal seaman.

That must have been one grueling experience.

I hope our BadBobby reads this and then directs PoppaGringo and Slatts to come read it..I can just imagine the dialogue of bobby's admonishment in delight of this "proof" for the seaman..
