They talk a good game but they could care less about military retirees.

That's pretty much always been the case. That's why they like using the National Guard - they get to kick them to the curb when they're done with them. There are no more guaranteed jobs when their tours are done, no more guaranteed healthcare either, so why would they treat retirees any different?

This has not always been the case, and the use of the National Guard has nothing to do with promised health care for active duty, retired and injured veterans, nor is it connected to post military employment opportunikties. Providing cost effective health care for retirees has, in the past, been acceptable with minimal out of pocket expenses. This GOP led congress takes p***e in saving money off the backs of retirees, veterans, and active duty. They control the purse strings and they don't give a s**t about anyone in those military categories. Yet, moron veterans and retirees on OPP still continue to carry the water for these useless bastards.....Pathetic.

You missed the point, NONE of the Government types care for retirees are anyone else. Not democrats, not republicans - and that HAS always been the case. In case you were asleep for 8 years, the dems controlled the Congress when the two biggest wars were started - and did not prepare for the injured at all. No money for rehabs, no money for the VA - nothing - and it's only gotten worse.

The Democrats had a majority in the Senate for exactly 39 days in 2009. Not enough time to do anything when the GOP minority set filibuster records from 2009 until they took control in 2012. Now they introduce only legislation that supports their ideology and blocks anything introduced by Democrats...pathetic ass hats.
