Don't forget I lived in Texas for 13 years! I used to have my own Stetson.
I wish I still had those pointy boots a friend gave me . They were Tony Lamas custom made for his dad in Abilene in the 30s or 40s.
I always called them the roach-stompers.
One favorite memory: A couple of hundred cowboys dancing the two-step together at The Roundup Saloon in Dallas, while the DJ cranked up Tammy Wynette singing "Stand By Your Man." We could all tell the boys who had driven in from west Texas because their Wrangler jeans were starched and had a crease...spiffed up for the weekend.
It was pretty much impossibly not to have a fun time at The Roundup!!!!
This video isn't Tammy singing, but it should at least bring a chuckle.
