12th chapter


Satan has despised God and His children for thousands of years. We wrapped up the 7 events in chapter 11. The most important verse in this chapter is verse 12 which assigns another woe to the sixth trumpet when satan comes to this earth.

Verse 1 - 4
This chapter covers more time than any other chapter. This is why I believe satan was trying to use the wise men to inform Herod that Jesus was soon to be born. There was a light it the sky and these men knew it would lead them to Jesus. The light disappears when the men get to Judea and inquire of Herod where Jesus is to be born. Then the light reappears when the men come outside and leads them to Jesus. The men had no idea satan was using their zeal to worship Jesus to give Herod the knowledge that Jesus was coming. The church actually told Herod where Jesus would be born.

Verse 5

This is Jesus. He has not returned yet. The lines haven’t been drawn yet and we still have a ways to go but there is light at the end of the tunnel. Those who don’t know God have not yet exposed their depravity. He died and rose from the dead over 2,000 years ago and we still are talking about it. However the lessons he taught for three years are being ignored. The things He said will happen are happening but it doesn’t seem like anyone is paying attention.

Verse 6

This is the same time given to the gentiles and the two witnesses in the 11th chapter. Often in the bible when females are mentioned it symbolizes religion. Obviously this woman cannot be Christ’s mother Mary. This symbolizes the true church that listens to and obeys scripture. Listening to music or watching someone dance will accomplish nothing. The churches that teach a relationship with Jesus is possible while ignoring everything He said and did are referred to as the great whore.

Verse 7 – 11

This hasn’t happened yet as we are still fighting wars and satan will deceive with promises of peace. When satan is kicked out of Heaven he will no longer be able to accuse in Heaven. I used to be a substitute teacher. My first order of business was to get rid of the class clown. Learning was impossible with their interruptions. When they were removed, they were never missed. There will be joy in Heaven when satan is kicked out. In the 2nd and 3rd chapters rewards are promised to overcomers. How to overcome is in verse 11. The first step has been done for us. The next two are choices of actions that we make over our lifetime. The words we speak should line up with scripture. If you are taught by the bible God has promised to give you wisdom that will confound your enemies. You will never lose an argument.

Verse 12

This is the last time “woe” is mentioned. It is when satan comes to this earth which is the sixth event. The sixth event gets two woes. Many people will lose their souls as they commit the unforgivable sin and worship satan as Christ, in spite of the fact that Christ warned of this 2,000 years ago.

Verse 13

The true church is persecuted, not persecutors. In Houston they elected an open lesbian to some office. When she gets elected she has pastors sending her their sermons for approvable before they are preached. If we keep electing these democrats they will destroy this nation. The world survived the fall of Rome and the demise of communism. When America falls it won’t be the end of the world.

Verse 14

This may only be speculation. Who is the true church? Is time, times, and half a time the same as 42 months or 1260 days? Europeans left Europe because the Catholic Church had made life unlivable. They were combining religion and politics and abusing all that had the misfortune to be under their jurisdiction. They would burn any translation of the bible that they didn’t approve of and kill the possessors. The Spanish Inquisition is the reason Spain is no longer a world power. In America there used to be religious freedom. This religious persecution of Christians will destroy America. This country is symbolized by an eagle. In less than 250 years its wealth surpassed Europe with all the countries combined. We can’t live in the pass. There won’t be future legalizing drugs, promoting same sex marriage and abortion. What else can it do but cheapen human life? You could go to jail for aborting a puppy.

Verse 15 and 16

This is a flood of lies. What is interesting is the lies being swallowed are what save the woman. The reason this nation exists is because of the abuses of the Catholic Church. They made life in England difficult and oppressive to the point that some people would risk their future in a land with no jobs than stay where they were born.

Verse 17

Satan has always hated God and His children. God’s children obey God’s word and are persecuted because of it. They know the persecution comes from satan and those deceived by him.
