Don't get all bent out of shape over it. If you go to the bank to cash a check, just say, "No twenties, please." If you have to accept a twenty, just rip a big piece off of one corner, and the next time it goes through the bank, it will be sent in to be destroyed. If lots of people do that, sooner or later, the government will get tired of having to print tons of new twenty dollar bills, and start issuing twenties with a different picture.

I agree WCS. When it was first mentioned they wanted to put a female on the bill and was looking for suggestions as to who it should be, she was my first choice, followed by Betsy Ross.

I noticed that here is a bridge in South Carolina not far from Hilton Head named after her as I drove over it while down in the area working.

I have no problem with that, as long as they didn't put her name in place of a former POTUS and war hero like Jackson.

How ironic that Tubman, the fervent abolitionist who was born into s***ery will appear not he front of the $20 bill. Jackson, who owned hundreds of s***es, will be moved to the back of the bill.

Another irony I see in this discussion is that Jackson founded the movement that became the Democratic Party, shifting power from the elites to the v****g people.

History is a funny thing.

However great he may or may not have been, I cannot respect him for his role in The Indian Removal Act that pushed Native Americans into Oklahoma along the Trail of Tears.

That's all well and good. Name a bridge after her...put her on a postage stamp to celebrate Black history...name a US Navy destroyer or minesweeper after her...even an Army post...start a new city and call it "Tubman Town" but to replace Andrew Jackson...the cmdr at the Battle of New Orleans, the dismantler of the US Bank, literally a man of the common folk w/ a double-ugly black woman is just too much for me!
