Nationalism v. Globalism

Nationalism: Devotion to one's own nation or the principals for which it stands.*

The Oath taken by every member of the armed forces is, in reality, a affirmation of Nationalism.

The pledge of Allegiance is an affirmation of Nationalism.

This was Nationalism that drafted the Declaration of Independence.

This was Nationalism that shed its blood to possess that Independence.

More recently, this was the Nationalism that drove this nation to save Europe in the first World War.

It was this Nationalism that drove the sacrifices of the "Greatest Generation" and saved the free World.

It was also this sense of nationalism that led to the e******n of Ronald Reagan in 1980.

2016 There is one and only one issue of consequence, and that issue is no less than.

the very existence of the United States of America as a Sovereign Nation.

NATIONALISM v. GLOBALISM

Will American v**ers willingly, or blindly, surrender the sovereignty of the United States of America to a "New World Order"?

Will the Declaration of Independence be labeled "DIS-AVOWED"?

Will the Bill of Rights be labeled "REVOKED"?

Will the citizens of the United States of America willingly, or blindly, surrender the very right to control its own borders?

What will the children and grandchildren of the "Greatest Generation" do on November 8th 2016?

What will WE do with the National Sovereignty which so many millions of Americans have fought, bled, and died, to preserve for US.

True Patriots will rise, unite, and yes even sacrifice, to defend and save our National Sovereignty.

Those who would surrender our National Sovereignty are, in my opinion, T*****rs, Cowards and or Fools.

I can speak only for myself, but "I will never surrender, as long as I have the will and the means to resist"!

What will YOU do?

Of course Obama loves America, it just not the way America should be loved. I knew he was not a true American, because in New Mexico on one of this visits with Bill Richardson, he didn't hold his hand to his heart during presentation of the F**gs and the National Anthem. He is an i*****l a***n (outer space type) that refused to assimilate.

Nationalism: Devotion to one's own nation or the ... (show quote)

You left out that Germany was a prime example of Nationalism and that Nationalism is a prime motivation of right-wing thought. And no, the declaration of independence isn't an example of nationalism--we didn't see ourselves as a nation superior to all others but as a people equal to those who called themselves citizens in England. And in our war of Independence we didn't fight because we saw ourselves as a superior nation but because felt we were equal to all other nations. England, in 1776 was a good example of nationalism. Our rejection of England was a rejection of nationalism, even though most of us did see ourselves as English citizens.

I don't know where you are trying to go here but Nationalism has produced more world wide death and destruction than any other philosophy held by a people or country.

In the content and context of Nationalism, I do support the theory of it and will stand in support of our Country as founded and as many a soldier has died to preserve....

Nationalism, political or social philosophy in which the welfare of the nation-state as an entity is considered paramount. Nationalism is basically a collective state of mind or consciousness in which people believe their primary duty and loyalty is to the nation-state. Often nationalism implies national superiority and glorifies various national virtues. Thus love of nation may be overemphasized; concern with national self-interest to the exclusion of the rights of other nations may lead to international conflict.
Nationalism is a comparatively recent phenomenon, probably born with the French Revolution, but despite its short history, it has been extremely important in forming the bonds that hold modern nations together. Today it operates alongside the legal structure and supplements the formal institutions of society in providing much of the cohesiveness and order necessary for the existence of the modern nation-state.
Necessary Conditions for Its Development:
For people to express nationalism it is first necessary for them to identify themselves as belonging to a nation, that is, a large group of people who have something in common. The rise of centralized monarchies, which placed people under one rule and eliminated feudalism, made this possible. The realization that they might possess a common history, religion, language, or race also aided people in forming a national identity. When both a common identity and a formal authority structure over a large territory (i.e., the state) exist, then nationalism becomes possible.
In its first powerful manifestation in the French Revolution, nationalism carried with it the notion of popular sovereignty, from which some have inferred that nationalism can occur only in democratic nations. However, this thesis is belied by the intense nationalism that characterized the German Empire and later N**i Germany. Where nationalism arises, its specific form is the product of each particular nation's history.

Don't confuse Nationalism with patriotism. There is no case where Nationalism took over a country where the end result was positive. Look at the French Revolution compared to the American Revolution--the French Revolution was nothing more than the slaughter of what were perceived to be the elite. The American Revolution was a just revolt against ones mother country because of unequal treatment where if not for the French elite we never would have gained freedom from England.
