In My Life's Experiences, Yes Before And After Recovery (AA For Me!) I Haven't Meet One Person Who Woke Up On "That Day" And Said, My Life Is Going So Great I Think I'll F@@k It Up And Go To (Pick The Place, AA, NA, OA, CA, etc!)... No, Everyone One I've Meet Had Hit That Place I And Others Call "Their Bottom!", Only Then Were We Teachable... So If You Haven't Gotten There YET (You're Eligible Too!), Remember If You Are One Of Us, Only Three Things Can Happen For You (My Experience Again!): 1.) You Either Get Sobered Up... 2.) You Get Locked Up, Jail or 'Funny Farm'... 3.) You Get Covered Up, As In Dead!!! So I Hope To See You 'Around The Coffee Pot' Soon... Don D.

We don't receive wisdom; we must discover it for ourselves.; it is acquired from a journey that no one else can take for us ..... or sometimes spare us from ---- Marcel Proust

Many of us have known people new to recovery who enter a Twelve Step program only to encounter an enormous crisis or difficulty. It's tempting at that point to question the mercurial nature of life, which sometimes inflicts blows when someone is already down.

Difficulties do serve a purpose, though. It's often in such moments of struggle that people become aware of the reality & value of their life, and begin to make difficult choices. It's also then that the fellowship of our recovery group shines, offering its collective experience, strength and hope to the people in need.

Many of us have known someone who refused or was unable to hear the message being offered at our meetings. It takes wisdom, patience, and detachment to know when to reach out to someone, and just how far to go. The respect we feel for that person's recovery process as well as the faith we have in our Higher Power and in our 12 Step program can help us to do our part, ... and then let go.

Life is a journey as well as a learning experience. I can learn the lessons of my lifes' journey, but I can not learn someone else's for them. I can however, pass on what I have learned to help others.

In My Life's Experiences, Yes Before And After Rec... (show quote)

Sort of like Johnny Manziel or Johnny Football. He has been released by the Cleveland Browns and I see now where the second agent has fired him. He hasn't got it yet I presume.
