8th chapter Revelation

Verse 1 – 6

The opening of the 7th seal is the beginning of the 7 trumpets. Seals are not actual events but are ideas to be understood. The seals, trumpets, and vials describe the same events from different perspectives. To review events 1 – 4 come like rain which means they are not distinctive. They are the deception of looking to man in the place of God instead of listening to God Himself and the war, famine, poverty, and misery that comes from listening to man. The last three events are woe trumpets which mean they will have a clear beginning and an end. The fifth event is the coming of the locust where people abandoned the values that made us strong but expected to be respected like they were decent. When this logic proves false satan will come with side show miracles supposedly to prove he is Christ, which actually is the other two woes. In the last event the kingdom of this world becomes the kingdom of our Lord.

Verse 7

Normally what comes from heaven is sunshine and rain which gives life to the whole planet. In this case what comes from heaven is toxic to life. Mainly those who are deeply rooted make it to the end. This is deception. God has said in 2 Thessalonians 2:11 and Isaiah 66:4 that He will delude minds. We are putting down normal relations between a man and woman and legalizing gay marriage. Obviously this has happened.

Verse 8 and 9

What causes war? One group of people desires the possessions of another group of people. There is no concept that your life and your possessions belong to you. In America we have no excuse for turning to communism or socialism. They have failed every society that tried them. Water brings life. The waters being polluted are the ideas that are accepted but are against life itself. We are all adults and no one is afraid of anyone. These foolish ideas hurt private enterprise and are against the law of God. Socialism fails everywhere it is tried and is anti-God and therefore anti-life. It not only destroys nations, it produces misery and destroys societies.

Verse 10 and 11

We know from the 3rd seal that this is famine. Bad ideas cause famine. When Russia was communist they had the largest army in the world and the most nuclear weapons. At the same time their people were standing in lines to buy bread that stretched for blocks. They were constantly prepared for a war that never happened. Stalin killed more Russians than any foreign power. Instead of building armies, tanks, guns, and bullets we should focus our attention on cuing diseases, and growing crops to feed ourselves. In Africa they have religious wars while children starve. Aids kills more Africans than it does in any other nation. You rarely get aids from your wife, especially if both of you are faithful to each other.

Verse 12

This is disease or pestilence. God promises to use sword, famine, and pestilence in Jeremiah 14:12 and Ezekiel 12:16. Cities are breeding grounds for disease and crime. The richest people in large cities are entertainers and actors. They don’t do anything for anybody else. A person that wraps sandwiches at least feeds a hungry public.

Verse 13

This verse tells us that the last three events will be different from the first four in that they will be distinctive, or have a clear beginning and an end. God says in Hosea 6:3 that he comes like rain. What we need to realize is that rain doesn’t come in one big drop, but in millions of small drops over a large area over a large period of time. In other words the first four events will blend in together and you won’t be able to tell one from another. The last three will be distinctive and you will be able to tell one from another. We are currently in the fifth event.
