Sex ed book "It's Perfectly Normal" ignites controversy at Oregon elementary school.

A sex education book full of illustrations depicting sexual acts has ignited a controversy after it was left at an Oregon elementary school library, according to a report late Thursday.

The principal at Hudson Park Elementary School in Rainier admitted in a letter to parents Thursday that the book was inappropriately shown to fourth-graders in the library recently, Fox 12 Oregon reported. Angry parents were told the book had been pulled from shelves.

The book in question, “It’s Perfectly Normal,” explains bodies, sex and sexual health, the station reported.

The illustrations in the book include pages of naked teens and adults, some depicting sex acts and even masturbation, the station reported.

Rainier School District officials defended “It’s Perfectly Normal,” according to Fox 12. The officials said the book has been approved for students 10 and up and is on the state-approved list of books allowed at the school.

The school district told the station a sixth grade class accidentally left the books out where a fourth grade class found and read them.

School officials said it was an honest mistake.

But parents of some of those 4th graders who spoke to Fox 12 accused the school librarian of showing them to their children, even encouraging them to take the book home.

The parents said some 4th graders who saw the book are only 9.

The letter to parents from the principal included an apology, the station reported.

“Inappropriate human development and sexuality books were disseminated to students who had library,” the letter also said, according to the station. “Procedures have been put in place to make sure this doesn’t happen again.”

District officials also told the station the librarian had been “disciplined.”


When "sex education" includes moral statements such as "perfectly normal" and therefore acceptable behavior for children, then it has overstepped the permissible education for grade school children. As part of a class in behavior and values for high school kids, it would be fine, but not in this case. If you have read "Brave New World" which was on indoctrination of children toward the C*******t-Socialist concepts negating God or any form of self control, you should understand the goals of this value free indoctrination of children. Remember that one of the tools in attaining a one world dictatorship is negating all values that made our society good. This is just another step in that direction.

Another dumbass book written by a dumbass, who believes that a PhD grants them omniscience - who has zero actual experience with children or parenting.

Humans have managed to survive for 1000's of years, without the benefit of dumbasses with PhD's - which means they've managed to figure out procreation just fine on their own.

Long ago, children were taught by people who knew reading, writing and 'rithmetic and those children grew up to make amazing discoveries and inventions - many of them without any "higher education" at all. Then, someone decided they were an "expert" on education and child rearing, convinced others they could teach them to become
"experts" and a whole army of such "experts" was born - and proceeded to "expert" us into graduating college students who cannot read, write or do simple arithmetic.

If it were up to me, I'd fire every single "expert" in every school system and force schools to go back to teaching reading, writing and 'rithmetic - and that's ALL.

Teach them that sex is wonderful if it is with a commited partner (married to you) but is not an activity that is appropriate for ten year old children. Better yet, teach them the things they need to know at that age, like reading and writing, understanding math learning the history of the country and the world, without the "America is evil" B*S*, teach them about sex in biology, and explain to them that even animals have rules about when it is appropriate, how mothers care for their offspring, and what the different animal families do to make the next generation of healthy well adapted functional animals. You can even teach them about genetics and environmental influences when they are in middle school. Teach them to carry on logical conversations, and appropriately debate a
subject. Teach them to love good music and know the difference between good art and bad, teach them how propaganda influences their lives, whether it is in the form of ads for products the g****l w*****g myth. That would make for a well rounded thinking individual. Is that too much to ask?

Yes, it is too much to ask. In the heady days after WWII, they decided to teach children to think for themselves and they lost control of two full generations. They are not about to allow that to happen again.

What? Who ever said sex was an unnatural act? The problem that that type of literature should not be taught to children, with illustrations of sex acts, in the public schools. Parents should have that right if they so choose.
