We are told to repent without being told what we did that was wrong in the first place. This may be why we elect politicians that murder children and legalize same sex marriage, yet we think God doesn’t approve of smoking cigarettes. This doesn’t make sense. Jesus started His ministry teaching repentance. He also taught that a servant is not greater than his master. A teacher of God’s word should follow Jesus. Jesus gave His harshest criticisms to those in organized religion. The people Jesus came to save were convinced by organized religion to release a murderer and kill Jesus, who healed, gave life, and taught the true word of God. Your repentance is meaningless if you continue to do the same things. Saying you are sorry and doing the same thing nullifies your apology We are all the same. None of us are closer to God than anyone else. We should all follow Christ.. Religion teaches what it does not understand. Jesus calls them blind guides and says to leave them alone. Preachers don’t understand themselves. Jesus and the disciples didn’t go around singing and dancing, leading praise and worship. We want stories about Jesus while we ignore His instructions. If you are teaching truth from God’s word then satan and those he have deceived will set a trap to discredit you. He has to make it personal because his logic is pathetic. This doesn’t make sense either. We are all sinners and everybody has done something. Instead of churches teaching repentance they should teach forgiveness.

We are told to forgive only those who truly repent. This is a four step process. Remorse, confession, restitution, and change. If a person fulfills these requirements, they are forgiven in the eyes of God and it is a sin to hold a grudge against them. We are also not to avenge. Vengeance belongs to God.
