Matthew 28

28th chapter Matthew

Verse 1 - 8
In all four gospels, Jesus rises from the dead. He said he would around twelve times and did just that. Jesus said just like Jonah was a sign for Nineveh He would be a sign for Jerusalem. Jonah was in the great fishes belly for three days and Jesus was in the tomb three days. The minor details differ from gospel to gospel. This proves scripture rather than cast doubt. Only the Holy Spirit could have the gospels agree on every major point.

Verse 9 and 10

This is the only time in the history of man that God raised someone from the dead after being dead three days.

Verse 11 – 15

At first the guards were put there to keep everyone honest. Now they are accepting bribes to lie. If a Roman soldier fell asleep on guard he was killed. This must have been a lot of money.

Verse 16 – 20

This is the great commission. Jesus was not talking to the Sanhedrin. If you just got saved, you shouldn’t be teaching.

28th chapter Matthew br br Verse 1 - 8 br In all ... (show quote)

Jonah was in the belly of the whale for three full days, or about 72 hours. Jesus allegedly rose from the dead after about 36 hours. He was crucified and died on a Friday evening and allegedly arose on Sunday morning. There will be multitudes of signs and wonders when the Messiah comes. Jesus gave one sign and it was not fulfilled. If Jesus bodily rose from the dead, he's a Zombie.

Anyone who chooses to "teach" should seriously consider James 3-1!

Good luck getting people to agree with insanity.

I told God I didn't want to do this when He called me. I hope you guys are right and I'm wrong.

How did He call you to teach? What exactly do you hope we are "right" about?

That is a strange thing to say. I've never heard of anyone that doesn't want to share how the Lord called them to serve Him.

I knew I would have to talk to negative people who would expect me to agree with the nonsense they have accepted.

Why do you think that is negative? I don't think you can point out any of my posts that are negative. Unless you mean I'm negative because I'm trying to get you to discuss actual scripture. What is the nonsense that you think I have accepted? Good morning!

The idea that if you are teaching God's word, the church will accept you. The truth the church killed Jesus and persecuted the disciples. It is taught that a relationship with Christ is possible while ignoring the bible.

I don't understand what you mean in the first 2 sentences but I want to. Would you elaborate a little more for me? The last sentence is a good one! I think it actually is possible to have a relationship with Christ without the bible! There was many years before the bible was written. People during this time had the same opportunity to accept Jesus as their savior as we do today. That doesn't mean that we aren't to read, study and obey now. Once we accept Jesus as savior, we have the Holy Spirit to guide and teach us. I also believe that good bible study groups can be more effective than church and Sunday school. You get the chance to discuss verses with other believers. That is my choice of actually learning what the bible "says".

You are closer to God in bible study than in anything else.
