Really cute photos, but not the way to choose a dog. would make a great fund raiser though. You could go in and get four shots of your dog being cute, and pay the shelter for the shots with $5.00 and a bag of dog food, or some bundles of newspapers. People would stand in line for that, wouldn't they? Bet Bear would be really cute in pictures, Akitas are such a neat breed anyhow.

Thanks for sharing! I especially like it when photos prove that dogs really do smile. :)

Thanks, what a wonderful idea. Let's face it, you have two beautiful big boys, and the wild little fella.

I'm sure you are aware Akitas are one man dogs, and I didn't get him until he was at least three. He is my boy, it took him a while, but he even listens to me now.

They have such a variety of personalities. Always nice to give a person a reason to smile as well.

I know how strange Mastiffs look if caught in mid air with their mouths open trying to catch a ball. huge lips flapping and drool flying , but a smile of success as they actually catch the ball.
Yes, akitas can be one man dogs to the point of not allowing anyone near their master. It is an impressive friend and companion.

Even closely related dogs raised by the same person have different personalities. The woman we got Chaos from (our Welsh Terrier) has had the breed since the early 1970's and she can point out the personality traits in a three month ol puppy and tell which great grand parent did the same thing, and how the two litter mates of the great grand parent never did but did something else that she remembers a dog four generations behind that dog doing. There are parent traits but they are all still individuals'

Our county veterinarian has a rabies clinic twice a year where the rabies shots are very cheap. One of the rescue groups is managed by a really nice couple who will cut the dogs nails before the rabies shot is given for a ten dollar fee and the money goes into the rescue group. We have helped out on this great endeavor a number of times. We always refuse the service to any dogs which are nasty and not easily approachable. That also gives the vet a clue that the muzzle will be needed.

At one time, we had a collie that the breeder wanted to breed in a less timid trait. He changed to a stronger willed male and got the results he was looking for. Tallie was not vicious, but not timid like dogs from previous litters. You bet, they carry traits just like we do.

In dogs, the Lord sure gave us faithful companions, companions that afford us a lot of company, when we are alone..
