I think I might have seen him when my parents took me to the Grand Ol' Opry for my 13th birthday. Went all the way to Denver from Brighton.

Yep. My Mom asked me what I wanted for my birthday, and that was what I wanted.

Did you forget that Denver was always referred to a "CowTown"?

They (the cowboys) used to drive cattle down 16th street.

Howard Cosell h**ed Denver and the Broncos for that very reason.

Funny. But I DID think the Grand Ol Oprey was in Tennessee.

Howard was an odd but extremely well versed man. People didn't like him much, but he knew his stuff. I especially enjoyed Mohammad Ali taking his toupee off his head while on camera.

He and Dandy Don Meredith were the essence of Monday night football.

I always like Howard with his dry sense of humor and he was one of the ones people could not find a ton of garbage on, they may not have liked what he said but they had no choice but to respect the man because he could talk to anyone without throwing crap their way.

We went from true country (like Merle) to country swing (not to bad) to country rock (somewhat interesting) to today's country (mostly crap and crack heads). Yup that progressive country stuff is great ain't it, well if your deaf and dumb maybe.

Although Denver was know as "The Queen City of the Plains." Maybe shared that title with Omaha.

You're right, Dog. Today's country is nothing like The Golden Age of Country--the '50's and '60's.

The Queen City now is DC when you look at the Prissy Pres Obummer, the Congress and the rest of the Queens who run the country. F*gots and maggots thats the best the US can come up with, d********g.
