I suspect we are missing your link.

Any chance you could elaborate on that? We talking about a Sikh in the US Army?
yea, the link didn't go thru. it did mean to say the U.S.Army is allowing this.

I'm far more troubled about that captain's "commander-in-chief" than I am about the beard and turban.

well he is the one that ultimately is allowing it.

Obama h**es our military, said so many times himself (not in direct terms, but definitely implied in his talk and certainly evident in what he is doing to them). I rather doubt that he gives a crap what goes on in the ranks. He just wants those 3 starred yes men in the Pentagon to toe the line.
It would be helpful to know more about this captain, like what his MOS is. I do know that in all branches, the dress and g***ming rules for men deployed to combat zones or special operations are pretty lax. In some cases, such things are necessary. Special forces in A-stan, for instance, grew beards and wore Muslim head wraps, even rode horses.
One thing I'm certain of, this Sikh isn't going to arm himself and, shouting "Allahu akbar", start k*****g fellow soldiers.

Not that it will make a scrap of difference to the audience here but a Sikh is neither Hindu or Muslim.

Yes, this is true. Sikhism is a monotheistic religion.

Thank you for your xenophobic reactive fear drenched response to somebody different. Do some homework on the Sikh religion then relax a little.

I knew a couple of Sikhs when I was in college. One was a classmate, the other worked in the commissary as a cook. They were both fine men.
