When I was in the service, Christians and Jews could wear a cross or star of David, only as long as it did not get in the way and stayed hidden from others.
I guess the military is desperate for recruits..... or we may already be a muslim country.

It would be helpful to know more about this captain, like what his MOS is. I do know that in all branches, the dress and g***ming rules for men deployed to combat zones or special operations are pretty lax. In some cases, such things are necessary. Special forces in A-stan, for instance, grew beards and wore Muslim head wraps, even rode horses.
One thing I'm certain of, this Sikh isn't going to arm himself and, shouting "Allahu akbar", start k*****g fellow soldiers.
