20th chapter Matthew

Verse 1 – 16

These verses are only found in Matthew. It’s not a big point but it doesn’t matter how long you have been walking with the lord. How long you have been saved and what you had to go through really doesn’t matter. We all are our own worst enemies and as people we all go through the same things. Every one of us felt the insecurities of growing up and was raised to believe we would be children forever. Once we grew up we thought we would be young forever. That’s not how it works.

Verse 17 – 19

I found twelve different scriptures where Jesus says they are going kill Him but He would be back on the third day after His death. Yet after His death Peter was going back into commercial fishing. It’s saddening that everyone can be so dense. Sometimes the person you are looking for is your best friend.

Verse 20 – 28

This is another idea often repeated in scripture. In America we look up to entertainers. They don’t do anything for anybody but they make a lot of money for looking good. Supposedly the will be young forever and are more mature and intelligent than the rest of us. They are completely useless and if you met them in real life you would realize that they are actors. They make money pretending to be someone they are not in situations that never happen. In God’s kingdom people that are looked up to actually serve a purpose. The greatest among you shall be servant to you all.

Verse 29 – 34

One of the last miracles done by Christ before the triumphal entry into Jerusalem is healing the blind. God is saying something but I don’t know what.
