American prosperity has made us insane

The solutions to all our problems are in following the word of God. The word of God is meant to be followed and not policed. The Americas are different from Europe, Asia, and Africa. We are protected by geography. The oceans separate us from the other continents. They provide better security than walls. Europe, Asia, and Africa are connected. Life began in Asia. It is ironic that countries that can’t build a car that can travel across it’s borders boast that they can build a missile that will cross the ocean and detonate in this country. America can only destroy itself. America is unique in that in this country we have the idea to make money. In other countries wealth is stolen or extorted. In America you can transcend your circumstances. With education, hard work, and a little luck, one can earn money and change his life from poor to rich. This prosperity has deceived us. Man makes money but money does not make man. We have become addicted to pleasure. We make fleshly pleasure our highest priority. When Rome had a political and moral decay, it fell, but that can’t happen here. We are protected from foreign invasion by the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. We became wealthy by insuring God’s will was done on earth. Capitalism and Christianity go arm in arm. Communism and socialism are both of the devil. The riches we earned from capitalism made us insane. We have unrealistic expectations and bad priorities. We despise alleged child molesters but do not provide for our own children. We used to be one nation under God but now we think being in the right group will protect us. We raise money to care for kids on other continents but have killed nearly 60,000,000 infants before they could take their first breath here down the street. Some people want this nation to become socialist in spite of the 100% failure rate it has had for every country that tries it. We think a relationship with Christ is possible while we ignore every sermon He preached, parable He taught, and miracle He performed. We go to church to worship God, not to receive instruction and direction for how we should live our lives when we leave church. People flock by the thousands to hear soothsayers and showmen preach a feel good do nothing religion that has you expect God to do something for you instead of teaching you how to live for God. It is taught that the way to become wealthy is to tithe to the church while the prophets are being ignored. We concern ourselves with the physical needs of the poor while not addressing the spiritual causes of poverty. We want to provide food and water to starving children on other continents. If family values were taught, Africa would feed it’s own children. One day, the ideas in the bible will be understood by all. Heaven and earth will pass away but God’s word will never pass away.

I believe it is irrational to think you can be guided by the Holy spirit while ignoring every sermon Christ preached, parable Christ taught, and miracle Christ performed.

Good sermon.

My personal observations of 'insanity'... the greater one's self-centeredness, the more neurotic one is. One can reach a point of psychosis, being out of touch with reality.
