Very true~~Those whom truly do need pain meds will be going "underground to get it"...Loss of revenue for the states will also be seen and isn't it convenient that that POS didn't finish his statement or start it by saying opioids overdoses are k*****g more people than auto accident and GUNS..He wouldn't dare admit such a thing given his efforts to strip us of our Second Amendment..

I will not comment further on it as this thread is about drugs buttttt .........Well, you know Liberty~~

That's because those are already illegal.

Yet plentiful by the under ground market~~And the Mexicans that bring in boat loads of the stuff, cocaine, drug cartel and your in a very lucrative business...

This is not a step at removing anything but making it harder for those that truly do need it....Hurt them, while the others get their drugs from Drs. that over prescribe to get their "kick backs" from the "pharm companions" that court them..

Drs. know the pain experienced with certain issues, injury etc yet once again its time for "the government " to decide what is best for us..Sure will help those pay outs for those Obama care insurance companies looking to deny payments now because of the costs of some medicine..pffftttt

Pretty hypocritical of you and obama...if he was so concerned about the heroin epidemic he would have shut down the border....where the hell do you think the majority of heroin comes from....

From reading it is obvious the "problem of addiction" comes from "some Drs', not all, that abused the system, in over prescribing and even chose not to "stop writing them," to ensure their relationship with the pharm companies continued..Double payments, private pay or Insurance pay, plus what they make off prescribing certain meds..Why do you think Pharm reps go to Drs' offices with samples of certain drugs for them to "sample"..I'm not talking about pain meds here, just meds in general..You can bet there are plenty discussion

While on that subject you can bet some of this "need to get a handle on the drug epidemic" is so that all those garbage carriers that came to be in the ACA can now limit the amount they will pay if anything!! There's a silent push from them, you can bet on it..Nice way to "help them" isn't it??? Take from those that do get their meds legally and force them to now go underground..Like the article says a billion dollar enterprise that the states will be cut out or severely limited.. Its been allowed to go because of that billion dollar business...

Why haven't any of these Drs that over prescribed had their license reviewed or suspended or had to answer to the AMA about what they are doing?? Because money talks and it keeps them all very well off..

There is a problem, I do agree with that, but go after the ones creating it legal or illegal and leave the people that truly do need it alone, not forcing them to take their money underground to get it..That is what this will do, just as the lady that said she went from cocaine to meth to heroin on the streets..That's got to have some impact on the number of deaths too..I wonder how many of those were from street use and not prescribed meds??

Pain management centers, specifically established to rehabilitate you do what??? Work with you, show you alternative exercises, etc that do help and still give pain meds..Well did, now they will not..????

I support fighting the war on drugs but not hitting the legal citizens that truly do need it..

Not really, the pills cost quite a bit for what you get, and with the big influx of mexicans in some areas cheap heroin comes with that...like here, and is why heroin is on the rise...then addiction sets in for the needle instead of the pill.....quite plentiful here now, in the 80s and 90s it was unheard of...just weed and meth heads.

That is the dang t***h..Its scary to think about what is out there now compared to when we were growing up...As something is eliminated or no longer in demand, the people that mess with this stuff bring something else out for recreational use and its stronger than what they had before..Kids just do not know who these people or what their new "wh**ever" is laced with....

Before these new regulations chronic pain patients mostly had their pain managed. Now from what I an reading a lot of family members are concerned that their loved ones are going to be forced to do what these i***tic regulations were passed to prevent (as you say, seek illegal drugs to replace what they used to have prescribed), or worse, suicide if the pain becomes too great. It is cruel and hideous. And as usual these regulations will do very little to stop abuse, but politicians can pat themselves on the back pretending that they actual care. Which of course if they did care they wouldn't have sentenced millions of people to a torturous existence. A lot of these blogs recommend that these 45 million people get together and file a class action law suit. I hope so. I have family members with back problems and MS, and these i***tic regulations are effecting them both

For every one who legitimately needs the addictive drugs (debatable), there are ten who abuse them or sell them illegally.

Should it be addressed.

For every one who legitimately needs welfare, there are ten who can work and don't. Same concept, same question.

Those legitimately in need, are still, also addicted.
