Why the Second Ammendement?

As man evolved, the survival and development of early man depended upon strength of body and mind.

This is the basis of evolution: Survival of the Fittest.

As man evolved into the h****r / gatherer stage, his mind evolved to show, through reason, how physically small, soft and weak;

in strength of body he was, in comparison to the beasts of prey in his world.

The strength of mind led to the development of tools to increase the strength of body, increasing the odds of successfully deterring of beasts of prey.

Man's first tool was the club, a weapon to increase the strength of body,

for protection, from beasts of prey, and for procuring food.

Early man's very evolution was driven by the quest for improvement of weaponry,

for he who possessed superior strength through, "superior weapons", was more likely to survive, and thus, successfully reproduce.

This was because these superior weapons were an advantage, not only in hunting, but also in confrontations with marauding beasts of prey, animal as well as human.

Thus, ingrained upon man's very DNA, is the instinctive "knowledge" that the most basic rights, the rights to live, to reproduce and to protect their young,

are best secured through the advantage, gained by the increase in strength of body, developed through the strength of mind, "superior weapons".

Later, as man became more numerous, and confrontations occurred, the survivors were, again, generally those who possessed "superior weapons".

Just all baby mammals must, instinctively, "know" to suckle, from birth, in order for a species to survive:

Man has evolved, over the millennium, with the instinctive "knowledge", that the security to survive and reproduce,

is dependent upon the possession of superior weaponry.

As man conceived government, government was, being made up of men, genetically ingrained with the same instinctive "knowledge",

that survival is dependent upon possessing "superior weapons".

Conclusion: The "drive" of man to possess "superior weapons" is as much ingrained it human DNA as are,

the instincts of the human race, to survive, and the drive to reproduce.

Thus: Article II of the Bill of Rights. An affirmation that Free Men have a most basic, God Given (genetic?) right to possess "superior weapons", in order to

provide best, for their own security and that of their family, as well as their society as a whole.

As added protection, human society must deny such "superior weapons" to the enemies of human society.

Thus gun (superior weapon) control laws were devised to insure that, the peaceful members of society may possess superior weapons,

as the best means to insure their survival, over that of the predator, be it beast or human.

Man has not changed much, evolution is a bit slow.

Well, the "man" enemy "within" has gotten much more deceptive in trying to eliminate the Tea Party, Judeo-Christians and conservatives, in general, Gatsby. It's ALMOST humorous how hard (they) try, 24/7/365, to "usher in" all that is a polar opposite to our free-market Western civilization; and how it all backfires on them, every damn time!!! Amending and eliminating the 2nd Amendment and disarming the "unwashed masses" has been one of the top priorities of the secular liberal progressive enemies of American over the last few decades, but, Oh, bad luck, Cynthia!!! Now there are at least 3 "rifles behind every blade of grass;" and LOTS more grass than before Japan attacked Pearl Harbor!!! And since 9/2/1945, Japan has been a real good friend to America. And now it's time to make radical Islam a real good friend also!!! GOOOOOOO TRUMP!!!!

.... And what exactly do you consider a " superior weopon"?
I know the government ( in which the 2nd Amendment intended), has "superior weopons".
So I what guess your saying we should have machine guns and rocket launchers, all of the sudden an AR-15 w/ a couple of gadgets on it isn't good enough.
Maybe your right, gun control laws are endangering our survival.

First, a "superior weapon" is that which makes one superior to one's adversary.

Since I, quite obviously, was "not there", I did not, "see that"

I am presenting my own personal THEORY of the nature of the human race;

openly inviting any, and all to debunk!

come one, come all;

show me the errors of my conclusions!

civillly, please.

My "theory" of man's evolution is an attempt to make the point

that, the quest for the security, to live and reproduce, is an

inherent "learned behavior", of the entire human race.

Human predators, for that is what criminals are, will always

have a built in, (genetic) desire for weapons, as a means to

increase their own security, to live. Thus any attempt to dis-

arm the law abiding mass of society, will simply make the

predators in society more secure in their predations upon

society at large.

Rocket launchers, you say? Look around, human predators,

ISIS, ISIL, what ever you want to call them, already have

acquired, and are using, rocket launchers, machine guns, tanks,

the means to make massive bombs, and poison gas. Wake up.

All rights are qualified rights. Just as there is no individual right

to falsely "yell fire in a crowded theater", there is no individual

right to "keep an atomic bomb in your closet".

Just as there are reasonable restrictions of the right to free

speech, there are already reasonable restrictions on the second

Amendment right to keep and bear arms;

The National Firearms Act of 1934, supported by the NRA

The Gun Control Act of 1968, supported by the NRA

The Brady NCIS background check Law or 1993, also supported

by the NRA.

So you see, your reasonable restrictions; of Rocket Launchers,

Machine guns et al., it is simply a distraction, mis-information.

Not at all a valid argument.

My intended point?

To stimulate intelligent thought, and debate,

upon the core issue of gun (weapon) control.

Do I have all of the answers? No.

Do you have all of the answers? No.

Can we, collectively, find some answers?

I ve had this conversation a thousand times before, on this forum no less.
What more control do we need?
No matter what if people want to k**l people, they will.
Take away the guns, limit carry laws, all it will do is hurt the citizens/ victims to defend themselves.

All the laws in the world won't stop someone who doesn't abide by them.

Agreed, Totally.

Lack of "Enforcement of Existing Law" is the issue!

The "reasonable restriction" argument is a distraction.
