Today, in 1839, the phrase "OK" was first used in print, in the Boston Globe. It was actually a misspelling of "all correct."
This is not to be confused with "otay," which did not make an appearance for another 96 years, when Buckwheat first made an appearance on the Little Rascals in 1934.

Since you brought it up, there's a project for you, to keep you out of mischief.
BTW, I know where it came from. Heh, heh, heh.
You know me, I'm always right, except for when I'm not.

Talk about putting me in a round room and telling me to pee in the corner. I am just taking a wild guess but it must be from the Mickey Mouse club or the Howdy Doody show.

Boy was I off by a mile. Okey Dokey first appeared in a 1932 addition of American speech.
