Cliven Bundy Loses Bid For Release In Nevada

Nevada rancher and anti-authority figure Cliven Bundy lost a renewed bid Thursday for release from jail ahead of trial on federal conspiracy and assault charges stemming from an armed standoff against government agents two years ago.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Carl Hoffman pointed to the violence alleged in an indictment accusing Bundy of inciting the impasse to stop a roundup of cattle from public land near his ranch in April 2014, and to a history of Bundy ignoring federal court orders.

“You say you’ll continue to do ‘wh**ever it takes,’” Hoffman said in a Las Vegas courtroom where some Bundy backers wore brown T-shirts emblazoned with the three-word slogan.

“I do not believe, Mr. Bundy, that you will comply with my court orders any more than you have complied with previous court orders,” the judge said.

Bundy and four of his adult sons are among 19 people now facing federal charges that could put them in prison for the standoff for the rest of their lives.

IMO - The B*M had, and has a legitimate reason for existing (prevent overgrazing, etc.), but like most of the Federal Government agencies, it has become corrupt, serving the PTB, the Special interests, Big Money, the Oligarchs, etc.

Here is an analogy that I like to use in explaining how the government/B*M operates. Let's say that your city starts charging you a monthly fee to park your car on the street in front of your house. Never mind, that you have parked there free for many years, and your father parked there free, and his father. And, after awhile they increase those fees, and eventually increase them to the point that many of your neighbors can't afford it and have to sell. And, that the buyer is usually the city itself, who in return returns the land back to it's natural state. That, my friend is what is going on with these grazing fees out here in the west. The Bundy's are the only ranchers left in Bunkerville, the B*M has already run the rest out of business and have purchased their land. Now, the Bundy's HAVE NOT REFUSED TO PAY THE GRAZING FEES! That's right, they have agreed to pay those fees, and have even sent in checks to pay those fees, only they sent the fees to the state of Nevada (which were returned), not the B*M. The Bundy's contend that the land belongs to Nevada, not the government.

I know something about the issue because I personally know Ryan Bundy. He did a lot of the gravel road and cement foundation work for me on my ranch, back when he used to own a construction company. We had a lot of conversations about the issue, of which the media misreports and does not have a clue what is really going on. My son, a 24-year Las Vegas Metro police officer (LVMPD is responsible for all of Clark County) and former Marine, does not sympathize with the Bundy's, or m*****a types at all, so we disagree on that. The radical m*****a types that blew away those two LVMPD cops during their lunch break a few years ago did that to him, and his colleagues. He forewarned me that the Bundy's would eventually be arrested, as well as any m*****a type that pointed a gun at any law enforcement officer during that Bunkerville stand-off...and, they're rounding them up now.
