Basic to a Republic are the rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. The total irresponsibility of the majority on the Right (though not the majority of Americans, even NRA members) to insist on no reasonable restrictions on guns, directly attacks the common good of our nation. It is domestic terrorism pure and simple. We have a group that feels no sense of decency or conscience in a free for all violence with deadly weapons. Put guns everywhere is their infantile solution. Playgrounds, churches, bars: viola violence disappears?

This is so far down the rabbit hole the word insanity is insufficient to describe it.

Hard to disagree with you when you start a discussion about insanity after all the years you have waged a courageous battle with the problem yourself and in your family you have to be an expert on the dreaded illness.
Regarding gun control and the second amendment you don't know you're ass from a hole in the ground so why don't you stick to what you do know and that of course would be insanity or how too cook a mean batch of cookies.
Rabbit hole, you have purchased a new home, well good for you.

Rumitoid,

I agree with you only because you inserted the word "reasonable" into your argument. With that, we already have more safeguards on guns than we do on a******n clinics. Now there is an infringement of rights... to murder a baby without regards to any of their rights. Twenty-one percent of all U.S. pregnancies (excluding miscarriages) end in a******n. Now .... do you want to talk about your the improbability, unless you really piss off someone, of being k**led by someone with a gun. The odds of you being shot is 30,000 to 1. But an unborn baby... well they have a 20 percent chance of being murdered... and if your mother has already k**led your sibling.... well you only have a 30 percent chance of living. Now that is infringement on rights!

Ok, so what do we do now? Take the guns away from law abiding citizens? Make you feel better?
You should really see a trained psychiatric specialist before you hurt yourself.

Here we go again, Right logic. What is it? Do not address the question or give reasonable arguments: insult. This is their solution and it is epitomized in Trump, their Savior.

What the hell is wrong with your brain and the thinking on the Right? Every frkn time a suggestion for reasonable controls is mentioned you get the cognizant dissonance of "confiscation." Do you have free will? Are you able to think for yourself? So tired of this utter stupidity and denseness.

The second amendment is important to me. I grew up poor the oldest of 8 children. we lived in the country in a place called Rabbit flat. My parents had a hard time feeding us all. I worked and gave my money to my parents. I was also a h****r. I brought home a lot of meat that sustained us. I am thankful I was able to have a few guns because they fed us. The NRA sticks its nose into politics sometimes way too far. Mitch McConnells' asinine statement that he would not accept a supreme court justice that the NRA did not approve of makes me sick. When I v**e I check the candidates NRA rating. Everyone who the NRA endorses gets a no v**e from me. I want honest politicians who don't compromise their integrity for v**es and endorsements.

How many gun laws on on the books already, Nimrod? How safe are gun free zones? Not at all. No one is saying guns should be everywhere at all times...That is except for criminals...They love an unarmed populace.
YOUR logic is screwed up.
So, genius, give me your answer.....What is your solution?

Thankyou for that clarification. Reasonable controls such as background checks help keep guns out of reach of whack jobs who k**l because with a gun they can. One of my daughters went through a mass shooting in the Clackamas mall in Portland. She was on the phone with us during the ordeal. This crap needs to be stopped some how.

OK, here's a reasonable argument for you.

Four independent research studies into firearm use in self defense have revealed that approximately 2.5 million times PER YEAR an armed citizen stops a violent attack (human or animal) or prevents a crime. In only 2% of those incidents is a gun fired. For sure, you'll never hear about the ones that got away in the MSM--no ratings potential there--and your l*****t landfills like HuffPo, Salon, or Slate don't even know such studies exist. If they did, they'd have a cow.

You l*****ts politicized the 2nd Amendment, you stirred the pot, so eat it. The NRA was founded in 1871 and was never political until you l*****ts started making a stink about the 2nd Amendment. It is good that law abiding Americans have a powerful lobby to counter the efforts to disarm us.

You are, as usual for the Right in such crucial areas, under-informed to reality but over-informed by blogs.
