Unreasonable and unrealistic expectations

What do we hope to accomplish this e******n season? An end to Congressional gridlock, that has recently caused a record budget deficit, adding to a phenomenal National debt? I would imagine, that every person has a different set of expectations - and I would imagine that every person is bound for disappointment.

Why would I say that? Well, history has already recorded nearly 100 years of "after e******n" disappointments, so why would this year be any different? Our recent history is even MORE rife with disappointment. Consider the 2008 e******n and it's after effects; The opposition leader immediately stated that the senates only job - was to make Obama a one term President. That statement ignored and dismissed the majority of Americans desires, as they were they one's who MADE Obama President. So 1/3 of the country was disappointed with the e******n results, that 1/3 was again disappointed - when McConnell failed to make Obama a one term President - when the people re-elected him with a 5,000,000 superior v**e.

One third of the US Government ground to a halt, when the GOP lead Congress, decided to expend all their time and energy wallowing in their disappointment, doing everything they could to derail the people's choice - again - flipping the finger to the majority of Americans. Now, the whole country is disappointed. The original 1/3 is disappointed in their own leadership, because they didn't stop Obama, and the other 2/3's are now disappointed, because they TRIED to stop Obama.

Thinking that changing Presidents is going to change the Government, is unrealistic and unreasonable. Sure, there will be a few changes, but nothing monumental. Certainly NOTHING like is being promised by ANY candidate - because their PROMISES are unrealistic and unreasonable. The pattern of the last 100 years will repeat itself - and we'll be disappointed again - because we always are. That means, that we can stop stressing about this, because we already know what will happen - disappointment - we simply cannot avoid it. We will do as we have always done - and get the same result.

Relax, just learn to accept disappointment as a way of life. We deserve THAT much at least.

Doc, it would appear that everyone in D.C. is pointing fingers at each other for the nation's problems. Meanwhile, the citizenry (or a large % of them) are pointing their middle finger at D.C. As your post suggests, our nation has become angry, bitter, dazed and confused...leading to disappointment and cynicism. :|

It's always someone else's fault...while actually our collective fault. The government needs to take out 'no-fault insurance.'

Sounds like you quit. Without the passion, and desire to make a change, it won't change.
It depends on how much ,and how firmly you believe.
The longer you stay in the cage, the more it seems like home.

You are acting like the e******n of "BHB" was not done by complete deceit and deception the first time [2008], and a complete altering of the "tax exempt" v****g process that shut-down the Republican Party and Republican campaign organizations the second time around. And had our Congress not been a "NO" Congress, and then a "HELL NO" Congress, "WE" would now be completely in bed with Fidel, The Iranian Revolutionary Guard and ISIS. As it is, they just have our [Marx/Alinsky] "number," and all of our technologically advanced military equipment, tanks, half-tracks, military-t***sports, Humvees, ATV's, arms, ammunitions and explosives. WAKE-UP AMERICA!!! GOOOOOOOOOOO TRUMP!!!!

Haha! How do you think Trump made his money, a paper route? Why on Earth would you think a person that has been part of the System their entire life, made their money using the system, hedged their bets by donating to both party's establishment, already run for President as a Democrat - would know how to do anything different - or even want to?

As I was suggesting, to prevent massive numbers of cases of PTSD, suicide and major depression, Americans should learn to live with ( and like ) disappointment - especially, Trump, Cruz, Kasich, Clinton and Sanders supporters.

That is such a defeatist attitude for one to have. As a Christian I will never submit to the devil or his advocates. There is still light at the end of the tunnel. All of us must be positive and strong willed in our commitment to this great country.

My personal expectation is this: Win or lose the presidency, the remaining mission is the same; that is, the decentralization of power and the deconstruction of the Establishment. I also expect big problems to be solved in small bits...ask any theoretical physicist!
