A child's view of adults is that they have arrived at some fixed point where they are emancipated and have all the tools necessary for life. Any true adult knows : we never stop growing. Many of us are, or have been, stuck in an immature level of development. Our life stresses, circumstances, situations and addictions took us far off the track of emotional growth. We found substitutes, evasions, denial & excuses for not truly dealing with normal life problems. Now we are back on the much more rewarding path of truly living and growing.
We accept the adult wisdom that we all need help and we all continue to learn and grow throughout our life & life's inherent difficulties. We finally feel like true adults, because today, we take responsibility for our actions. We don't blame others for our problems or deny their existence. Today, we feel challenged by them. And when our days feel too challenging, we can always ask for help ...... & get what we need. Back on our right path, we are never alone.
Today I am grateful to be on the adult path of dealing with my life and continuing to grow ...... wiser, stronger, & more responsible..
