I'm not fiatlux. I'm no saint, either, but I know that God’s grace has saved me and I ask for forgiveness every day for the sins I commit.

Why? You're the one who claims righteousness, not her. Are you already so "godly" and "righteous" that you don't need any help or reminder? I know I'm not and I seek out others to help hold me accountable.

Perhaps you should read this, iFank. It demonstrates the natural progression from showing Christ's love to others through becoming their serve t.

Philippians 2:1-4 (New International Version (NIV))

Imitating Christ’s Humility
"2:1 Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, 2 then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. 3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, 4 not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others."

A natural and understandable hesitancy accompanies any serious discussion of service. The hesitancy is prudent since it is wise to count the cost before plunging headlong into any Discipline. We experience a fear that comes out something like this: "If I do that, people will take advantage of me; they will walk all over me. I can't allow myself to be made the fool."

Right here we must see the difference between choosing to serve and choosing to be a servant. When we chose to serve, we are still in charge. WE decide whom we will serve and when. And, if we are in charge, we will worry a great deal about someone depriving us of the choice of whom and when to serve; that is, taking charge over us.

But, when we choose to be a "servant" and not simply "serve," we give up the right to be in charge. There is great freedom in this. If we voluntarily choose to be taken advantage of, then we cannot be manipulated. When we choose to be a servant, we surrender the right to decide when we will serve. We become available and vulnerable. However, through God's grace, we know that we will be rewarded for our servitude once we join God in His Heaven.

Self-righteous service picks and chooses whom to serve. Sometimes the low and defenseless, those who are different from us, are served because that will ensure a humble image. True service is indiscriminate in its ministry. It has heard the command of Jesus...
Mark 9:35 (NIV) ..."If anyone wants to be first, he must be the very last, and the servant of all."

See Mark 13:32 (NIV), below,

"But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father."

When did YOU become God, the Father? WOW!! Who would'a thunk it? Was yours a "virgin birth," too?

If you're so good at prognostication, who's going to win the next Super Bowl, the next College football national championship, and the upcoming NCAA men's and women's national basketball championships? I need to start placing some very high bets!!! :XD:

iFrank, stop being paranoid, or even if you cannot stop, answer what was put to you, even if your delusion thinks it is me. You should as a Christian be able to respond to the post. Do you have an answer or only your usual attacks and insults?

I'm not obligated to respond to anyone, I didn't start this post, you're to "high and mighty", remember the bible, from a while back, you, alabuck, and others were as it appeared to be desperately seeking answers from the bible, that's the job of your spiritual leader. Like I said, there enough pearls given and now it up to the person to wake up. One last one, The bible says most will be deceived, study, or like I responded on the other post, plow deep.

You should realize you contradicted yourself in your response. First, you say, "... desperately seeking answers from the bible, that's the job of your spiritual leader. Then you tell us, "... study, or like I responded on the other post, plow deep."

Why should I/we study if we're to rely on our "spiritual leader" for answers? When Christ expired on the cross, the curtains separating the Inner Court from the Most Holy of Places was torn from top to bottom. Why? Because with His death, we were no longer separated from God, but, through Jesus, had direct access to the Father. "No man comes unto the Father but through Me." That action removed any and all barriers from our having a direct and loving relationship with God; with Christ acting as our intermediary, accepting for, and on, Himself, God's judgments for our sins. Jesus is our "Saviour" by us accepting Him to take the punishment, we deserve, and "saving" us from it.

If you're still thinking that you need an earthly priest to act as your lawyer, if you will, you're sorely mistaken. Add to this, that you can buy a Bible just about anywhere to read and study from, at your leisure.

SURPRISE!!! You can now read and study the Bible all by your self! Now, how cool is that!?
