17th chapter Matthew

Verse 1

Peter, James, and John were part of the inner circle. They were also with Christ in the garden before He was arrested.

Verse 2 and 3

Something supernatural is occurring. Moses has been dead for thousands of years and Elijah went straight to Heaven without dying. These people walked the earth thousands of years ago. Death in the flesh is not the end of all life.

Verse 4

Peter knew he was in the presence of something supernatural. It is a mistake to bow down and worship when you may not know what you are worshiping. We are not in charge. Instead of doing what they tell us we should read the word of God and let the Holy Spirit speak to our hearts.

Verse 5

Six times God calls Jesus His son. For those who actually doubt Christ do you believe God? If you look in Revelation 21:8 unbelievers are on the first train to hell.

Verse 6 thru 9

Only three people saw this and the other disciples didn’t. While this is going on the other disciples are trying to decide which of them is the greatest.

Verse 10 through 13
Everyone expected Elias to be named Elias. John came in the spirit of Elias and no one recognized him. Those in high positions in organized religion didn’t recognize Jesus for the most part. If you are true to God’s word they won’t recognize you either. Satan deceives the whole world. The bible says so. His logic is so weak that he focuses attention on things that are unimportant.

Verse 14 through 18

In the Strong’s concordance the translation is not so harsh. The disciples did some healings; they just couldn’t heal this one.

Verse 19 through 21

Before you do anything, you have to have the confidence that you can do it. Plan your work then work your plan. Why prayer and fasting? You measure your words when you pray. When you fast you are focused on something other than your immediate needs. Godly living is not mindless praise but planning and execution.

Verse 22 and 23

About eleven times in three gospels Jesus predicts His death and resurrection. Yet the disciples were surprised at his resurrection.

Verse 24

They could have just asked Jesus for the money, they are trying to cause a rift between Jesus and the disciples.

Verse 25 and 26

God appeals to your intellect. The enemy appeals to your emotions. The point Jesus is making is that if the temple was built to worship God and He is God’s son then He shouldn’t be taxed. Instead of following God by obeying His word they were trying to manipulate scriptures to their own profit. Their use of God’s word made them irritating pains in the ass to anyone who had the misfortune of being in the same room with them.

Verse 27

This verse shows the power of Jesus. Either Christ made a gold coin pop up in the belly of a fish and then had the fish bite the line Peter threw into the water or a sailor drops two coins in the water and the fish that swallows the coins obeys Christ will and bites the hook that Peter throws. In either case this is a power beyond the comprehension of man.

Elijah is a Jewish child psychiatrist and he is the Messiah's savior. Malachi 4:4-6. "Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord: and he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse". Elijah is one of many people who have been reincarnated and he works with families for a living. The Messiah and Elijah have been together for over 39 years. They will both be anointed by the Jews. Zechariah 4:14.

"God appeals to your intellect. The enemy appeals to your emotions." Totally false but also true. The enemy appeals to your intellect as well. Our emotions are the truth of where we are in each moment. Just like the mind, He knows a way of twisting it.

Lest you forget that nothing--mind, spirit, heart, or soul--is beyond reproach or delusion.

17th chapter Matthew br br Verse 1 br br Peter, ... (show quote)

The transfiguration included Moses the lawgiver, Elijah is representing those who were caught up like Enoch, Jesus Christ was discussing with Moses and Elijah about his decease which He should accomplish at Jerusalem. In Matt 17:11 restore is the Greek word 600 in the concordance means to reconstitute (in health home or organization), also in Acts 3:21 the word restitution is 3956 in the Greek is all the forms of declension, thoroughly, whatsoever, all, whosoever, every, the whole. The two witness are not mentioned by name but are the ones who were taken alive by God. Gen 5:24 and 2 Kings 2:11. Faithless is 571 Greek is untrusting, unbeliever. Perverse 1294 is to distort, corrupt, turn away. Christ is now preparing a "mansion" or abode in heaven and He will appear when the two witness lied dead in the street or arena for three days.

The story of a gold coin found in a caught fish was told over a thousand years before, by the Hindus.

Say Fred, the Scholars say it was most likely a talent of gold, what in researching it did you come up with?

The coins had to be small enough to fit in the fish's mouth.

Verse 27 says a piece of money, one coin, a shekel. Upon further research found it was silver equivalent to 64 cents at the time of this publishing, when? Some time ago. Also some fish did have big mouths.

We are focusing on the value of the money and not how the money was attained.

Okie dokie, it was enough money for "Christ" and Peter to pay their share.

Nothing can be false and true at the same time.
