Spirit and Truth
God and Jesus say that true worshipers must worship Him in spirit and truth. The spirit of God is contained in the word of God. 1 John 5:7 Christ puts word and spirit on the same level in John 6:63. Jesus says He is the truth in John 14:6. The main idea is that if we want the Holy Spirit to work in our lives, then we must read the word of God and let the Holy Spirit speak to our hearts. Our conscience should guide our actions. Jesus says in John 14:26 that the Holy Spirit would remind the disciples of the things He said. This is important because it would be a couple of decades until those who saw Jesus wrote about it. Printing presses were invented 1400 years later. King James didn’t commission numerous scholars and theologians to collect all the writings about God into one work until 1600. God doesn’t die and I think it would be wiser to listen to those that sent the Holy Spirit in the first place over hearsay, especially someone who wants to use the bible to make a name or make an easy living. When you study the whole bible, you will see that it all ties together and tells a story.
