Introduction

During the three years of Jesus Christ's public Ministry, Jesus taught in parables. These parables grant us wisdom of how God intends us to live. When living according to the wisdom of His words, a man and a woman can fulfill in joy God's command, of "Living life to its fullest."

In today's day and age, which is not so much different from Christ's time, mankind lost hope, faith, and love in God. Then Jesus came and reminded us of God's Love, teaching us to pray and overcome adversity. This wisdom is needed in America today.

As I did in Praying for America: through a Psalm of David I welcome all Christians to add their prayers based upon the verses of the Bible I post. I will be posting these parables during the forty days of lent and through the passion week until Easter Sunday. On Easter Sunday, I shall once again restart the Psalms of David. All who pray here as well as those who prayed there, when we rans the Psalms, are welcome. No one shall be turned away. All I ask, is since this is a purely Judeo-Christian prayer is that we all be respectful of each other's prayers. I will post these parables in Matthew, Mark and Luke. All three will be posted in accordance with the New King James version of the bible.

I begin this topic like I did the Psalms,

IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER,
AND OF THE SON,
AND OF THE HOLY SPIRIT,

AMEN

Father, in heaven.
We America, are praying for our country, our state, and our communities for Your blessing once again. Safeguard our nation, as we journey on a quest of 46 parables told by your Son, for the saving of our souls.

Amen

Parable#1 "New cloth on an old coat" and Parable #2 "New wine in old wineskins"

In Matthew:

"Then the disciples of John came to Him, saying, “Why do we and the Pharisees fast often,[d] but Your disciples do not fast?” And Jesus said to them, “Can the friends of the brideg***m mourn as long as the brideg***m is with them? But the days will come when the brideg***m will be taken away from them, and then they will fast. 16 No one puts a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; for the patch pulls away from the garment, and the tear is made worse. 17 Nor do they put new wine into old wineskins, or else the wineskins break, the wine is spilled, and the wineskins are ruined. But they put new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved.”(Matthew 9:14-17)

In Mark:

"The disciples of John and of the Pharisees were fasting. Then they came and said to Him, “Why do the disciples of John and of the Pharisees fast, but Your disciples do not fast?”And Jesus said to them, “Can the friends of the brideg***m fast while the brideg***m is with them? As long as they have the brideg***m with them they cannot fast. But the days will come when the brideg***m will be taken away from them, and then they will fast in those days. No one sews a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; or else the new piece pulls away from the old, and the tear is made worse. And no one puts new wine into old wineskins; or else the new wine bursts the wineskins, the wine is spilled, and the wineskins are ruined. But new wine must be put into new wineskins.” (Mark 2:18-22)

And in Luke:

"Then they said to Him, “Why do the disciples of John fast often and make prayers, and likewise those of the Pharisees, but Yours eat and drink?” And He said to them, “Can you make the friends of the brideg***m fast while the brideg***m is with them? But the days will come when the brideg***m will be taken away from them; then they will fast in those days." Then He spoke a parable to them: “No one puts a piece from a new garment on an old one; otherwise the new makes a tear, and also the piece that was taken out of the new does not match the old. And no one puts new wine into old wineskins; or else the new wine will burst the wineskins and be spilled, and the wineskins will be ruined. But new wine must be put into new wineskins, and both are preserved. And no one, having drunk old wine, immediately desires new; for he says, ‘The old is better.’” (Luke 5:33-39)

In the Name of the Father,
And of the Son,
And of the Holy Spirit,

Amen!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
First off....thank you Ranger.
This is a welcoming thread that will refresh and or teach what it means to be a follower of our faith in Yeshua.
In these times I've been reading Matthew 24 to remind me of what Jesus Himself has warned us of the coming days.
For my first post, which may not be as related to this one, is to remind the followers of Jesus Christ that just going to church and believing in Him may not be enough of an effort to gain favor into God's Kingdom.
Matthew 24:13
But he who endures to the end shall be saved.
Not those who endure right now....or who have endured in the past....but for those who endure from now to all the way to the end.
This is a daily battle we must fight and persevere each and every day.
I'm looking forward to the rest of the messages on this thread that will enhance and inspire all of our individual and unique walks with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Thank you, Ranger, for letting me know you are doing this. I am so excited, I feel like a child anticipating Christmas
Praise the Lord!
Once again the halls will resound with His Word,
and joy will fill the hearts of His followers.
We will sing His praises, recite His Word,
and dance like children filled with glee.
Praise the Lord!
There are no earthly words that fit His glory,
but He will see the light in our eyes.
He will feel the warmth of our smiles,
He will know He is our happiness.
Praise the Lord!
There is no need for more words,
His presence with us says it all.
Where two or three are gathered in my name,
there I am in the midst of them.
Yes, Praise the Lord!
In the Name of Jesus
We gather when it's wet and cold, or hot and dry,
We gather to hear and praise His Name.
We gather with joy in our soul,
We gather in anticipation of His presence.
In the Name of Jesus
We gather to see His holy face,
We gather for His light to shine.
We gather to lift the shroud of darkness,
We gather to spread His Light to the world.
In the Name of Jesus
We gather to build a foundation,
We gather on His solid ground.
We gather to pray for America,
We gather for His blessings to cover our Nation.
Only, always, in the Name of Jesus
A parable of Jesus Christ. The Third Parable.
Brothers and sisters, join with me in Praying for America in this the third parable:
In the name of the Father,
And of the Son,
And of the Holy Spirit,
Amen
Father, in heaven.
We America, are praying for our country, our state, and our communities for Your blessing once again. Safeguard our nation, as we journey on a quest of parables. Let my fellow Americans take heed in today's reading, for behold attached to the parable is the Beatitudes.
Amen
Parable#3 "Lamp on a stand"
The Gospel of Jesus Christ according to St. Matthew:
"And seeing the multitudes, He went up on a mountain, and when He was seated His disciples came to Him. Then He opened His mouth and taught them, saying:
“Blessed are the poor in spirit,
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn,
For they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the meek,
For they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
For they shall be filled.
Blessed are the merciful,
For they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart,
For they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers,
For they shall be called sons of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake,
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
“Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
“You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.
“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
(Matthew 5:1-16)
The Gospel of Our Lord
Praise to You, Lord Jesus Christ! King of Endless Glory!
In the Name of the Father,
And of the Son,
And of the Holy Spirit,
Amen!
Wake up America
Before the Lord punishes, He warns!
Has He not warned us to heed His Words?
Do you see the decline in moral values?
Do you hear the cry of aborted babies?
Wake up America
Where are the faithful, do they not care?
Warm a pew on Sunday, forget the Word on Monday.
Men have died for our freedoms.
Do you remember the tears, the toils, and the deaths?
Wake up America
Our Lord prayed in Gethsemane,
Blood appeared on His brow.
His disciples slept in peace,
Could they not watch with Him one hour?
Wake up America
Are you in your prayer garden,
Do you sense the pain He felt?
Do you think life will continue as is?
Are you like the disciples, peacefully asleep?
Wake up America
In anger you point a finger at me,
Have I disturbed your revere?
Fear not, He will not be mocked,
The clouds of change billow on the horizon.
Wake up America
The last three mornings, as I am sitting, on the deck with my coffee, I talk to the Lord. Each morning, the Spirit has given me the three words that I start the verses with. Each morning the additional words come so easy. This morning's words are harsh, but when Israel turned from God, His patience finally stopped and they suffered. I pray America does wake up.
Parable#4 "Wise and foolish builders"
The Gospel of Jesus Christ according to St. Matthew:
“Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.
“But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.”
And so it was, when Jesus had ended these sayings, that the people were astonished at His teaching, for He taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.
Another Gospel of Jesus Christ, according to Luke:
“But why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do the things which I say? Whoever comes to Me, and hears My sayings and does them, I will show you whom he is like: He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently against that house, and could not shake it, for it was founded on the rock. But he who heard and did nothing is like a man who built a house on the earth without a foundation, against which the stream beat vehemently; and immediately it fell. And the ruin of that house was great.”
(Luke 6:24-29)
