In Jeremiah 7:8 11 God is scolding His children for doing what He not only instructed; He came to this dimension and wrote with His own finger in stone each act they werent to do. They received the commandments from God. They did what they wanted. For this block of instruction we will look at Jeremiah 7:1 9. Read Jeremiah 7:1 9. How do know that the bible is the word of God? It says it is. In this verse what does it say? The people were coming to worship but they stopped right there. We should know that God made this entire creation. The same pattern for atoms with electrons surrounding protons and neutrons is used with planets revolving around the sun. This planet earth is about 25,000 miles at its fattest point. It is nowhere near the largest of the planets. In spite of its size, it travels through outer space with no support at a speed of about 18.5 miles a second. A bullet fired from a high-powered rifle travels about 3900 feet per second. A mile is 5280 feet. This planet is traveling through outer space at a speed of over 25 times that of a bullet fired from a high-powered rifle. God knows how awesome He is. He doesnt need us to tell him. Instead of worshiping a God we dont understand why dont we do what He says? You can sing all you want to. You still have to stay off drugs. The acts that so upset God were violations of the ten commandments.

He hates vain thoughts, every false way, evil, robbery for burnt offerings, Esau, froward mouth among other things. These are more than just upsetting him.

God is not upset about violations of the Ten Commandments; such concerns are for the immature. To love is all that concerns God--and all that should concern us.
If I truly loved my child, do I need a rule not to abuse that child? Or covet or steal from that child? The Commandments carry mandatory punishments for sin. It is essential to following the Law. Jesus usurped the punishments in favor of mercy and forgiveness. A New Testament!

They were not violations of the 10 Commandments. They were an absence of His presence in our life. God is love. The absence of love is sin.
