7th chapter of Matthew
Verse 1 through 5

None of us have a hell to put someone in or a Heaven to promote someone to. We shouldn’t condemn anyone. The only person we can control is ourselves. Everyone can touch their own noses. It is not a good idea to put your hands on someone you do not know. That being said we should be more forgiving. If you want God to forgive you for your sins, then you must forgive others whether they have done something to you or not. If a person’s personal habits leave much to be desired that is not your business. We are all adults and we are free to be what we want in this country. These scriptures bring out three points; 1 If something is in your eye you know it before anyone else. 2 A beam is a piece of wood; it is bigger than your head and will not fit in your eye which leads to three. 3 It is a bigger sin to look for sin in others than to check yourself before you wreck yourself.
Verse 6

It is the choices a person makes that determine their worth. If a person chooses to make something of their selves through education and hard work they will be of more value to society than a junkie or alcoholic. Some people are honestly a waste of time and the quality of life improves when they are not around.

Verse 7 through 12

Seek and you will find. Things don’t just come to you. You have to express a desire or make an effort. You have to know what you want and go for it. This bubble-gum Christianity we are teaching is wrong. God doesn’t judge by what He sees or hears. He can read your mind and judges your intentions. Only you and God know what you thinking.

Verse 13 and 14
Take the road less traveled. If you don’t make something of yourself you won’t be anything. If people are around you agree with you, that may be a sign you are on the wrong path.

Verse 15 through 20

Here Jesus not only tells us not to believe everything we hear but shows us how to recognize someone he didn’t send. It may help to read the 23rd chapter of Jeremiah and the 34th chapter of Ezekiel, as well as Deuteronomy 19:20 – 22. Like thorns cause pain when God didn’t send a person proclaiming His word it will end up in conflict. If satan has deceived their minds and you tell them what you read in the bible they will either insult you personally or talk to you like you are a child. Either way it will be a negative experience.

Verse 22

Jesus said this about 2,000 years ago. His words are being ignored by everyone. Jesus and His disciples were not traveling musicians. Paul didn’t go around singing songs. Our minds are so deceived by satan that we condemn normal relationships and legalize gay marriage. You can be certain that when Christ returns He will not fault us for not paying tithes or singing or clapping our hands. If we continue to do what God hates and not do what He likes we will have to give account. In the verse we are covering people seem to think miracles are because they are good. God does miracles through us because He is so good and His mercy endures forever.

Verse 23

Once again, Jesus said this 2,000 years ago. We have no excuse for not reading it and applying it to our lives.

Verse 24 through 27

What we should note is that both people go through the same things. We all have down sittings and uprisings. In both cases it rains, then floods, and wind. The outcome is determined not by praise and worship, but by actually applying God’s word to your life.

Verse 28 and 29

Jesus word always has an impact. When you teach God’s word, the people deceived by satan will think you are satan. He has had thousands of years to get everyone off track. People were actually torturing and executing in the name of Jesus. The Catholic church has more in common with the Sanhedrin than with Jesus and the disciples. This concludes the sermon on the mount. What Jesus taught will naturally make more sense than words anyone else preaches.

I Liked a lot of what you said here but have an objection just to one sentence: "If you don’t make something of yourself you won’t be anything."
For me, how I understand scripture, we cannot make anything of ourselves: trying to do so is the problem.

I put myself through college while taking care of a wife that didn't work and 3 kids. Experience has shown me different.
