A nice story filmed in Lille! It leaves a cup into the street and wait for someone picks it up and throws it into a nearby trash can, but look what happens next!

I don't know know many pieces of trash I have picked up without fanfare. It needn't call for such, but I liked the well-deserved gesture by the crowd :!:

How many places in the US would you get a standing ovation, flowers, a band and an award for rescuing another persons trash. Well all I can think of would be the NY ghettos or DC as there has been a lot of trash rescued there.

Great idea. This could be fun to do sometime and see what happens.

I kinda h**e to be the guy who objects, but I don't like the big set up over a piece of trash. It is nice the guy picks up the trash, but Europe and particularly France has so many other problems.

I think in real life the cup would have been stepped on, flattened, and kicked around. I almost wish it was.

Nice way to start the weekend. I was just about ready to leave my office when I triggered this.... Caught me by surprise.... If I could read French would I have been surprised?

It just bothers me. The set up, the cheering for picking up trash. Maybe two people thanking him I could have tolerated. Now if he had saved a drowning child, then yes I would be happy. Praise inflation.

No different from a flash mob singing. Don't take life so seriously. :(

Around here (IOWA), the wind would have blown it away before anyone had a chance to pick it up. I got into the habit of picking up trash by being around aircraft. You don't want a jet engine injecting anything but air. And propellers can be damaged by fairly small items.
