Fear Is Real...

A panic attack is feeling a sudden burst of anxiety and fear for no apparent reason. We all experience anxiety from time to time but it can usually be traced to a cause. A true panic attack happens straight out of the blue.
Once we may have reacted to panic attacks by getting high and running from them. Then we'd come down and the whole cycle would start over.
Now we don't have to react this way. We can recognize panic attacks for what they are, isolated happenings that will pass. We can also get help from friends, counselors, and sponsors.
Today, we are not alone in our fear. We have hope.
Today let remember not to panic.

My wife has panic attacks. She sometimes has to leave the supermarket because of this. I walk her to the car and she sits until I finish. There's never a reason other then her fear that she will get one. I feel helpless. Nothing I can do. She's under the care of a doctor and 3/4 types of meds. She's just not getting better; it's been years now. My attempts to speak to the doctor get rebuffed (I can't talk to you about her therapy). There are other things she can't do because of this thing. Nothing I can do.
