Blind leading blind

In the fifteenth chapter of Matthew people in organized religion left Jerusalem and walked to Gennesaret to cause division between Jesus and His disciples. In the fourteenth verse Jesus says to let them alone. There are no thought police. One man cannot know what is in another man’s mind. The way we teach to be saved is a lie. We think we are saved while we murder children and cannot keep our families together. We send members of the church to poor neighborhoods and nations to help them physically when they have spiritual shortcomings that go unaddressed. In Matthew 23:24 Jesus calls those in organized religion blind guides. It is sad to realize that in this situation the follower has no way of knowing his leader is blind also until it is too late. None of us understand God’s plan from start to finish. 1 Corinthians 13:9 says, “for we know in part and we prophesy in part.”. Our ability to perceive reality is in the hands of God. We think preachers can know who is going to heaven or hell based on the deeds in this life, or on the sight of the eyes, or the hearing of the ears. Those in organized religion don’t know what they are talking about. Listening to them won’t do you any good and can only help them. Ignoring them won’t hurt. Disregard what everyone says, read the word of God, and let the Holy Spirit speak to your heart.

I agree there is a lot of fault in organized religion Fred. But there are many worthy men of God who teach and preach, are part of organized religion and read God' Word, pray and are directed by the Holy Spirit. I don't believe we can make a blanket statement against all organized religion. There are many who have a heart for God and strive to serve God and their fellow man. I was raised Baptist, but now choose to be non denominational. However, I must respect other believers who choose to follow different denominations and I know many who are devout Christians in many different denominations. Paul warns us about quarreling among one another over petty doctrinal issues. We must remember there is only one church and Jesus Christ is the head of it. If we are believers, then we follow Him. We must love our brothers and sisters who are also His children regardless of what denomination they belong too. Not one of us will ever be the perfect Christian. We all fall short. But where are our hearts? God examines our hearts. I believe the most important thing is that we strive to know Jesus more intimately, learn to love Him and learn to love others and practice acting on our faith. I do agree that we do not place our full trust or faith in any man, regardless of whether he is a preacher, priest, etc.

My prayer is that God opens your eyes. You think we are saved while this nation murders children and legalizes same sex marriage? We want to feed children in Africa but not teach them that they should care for their children?

Rufus, I could not have stated that any better! I am a Baptist but I reserve the right to use my own brain. I believe that every one of us will be surprised of the things that we got wrong. And that's ok. Jesus knows our heart! There will be people saved from different denominations, not just from this one or that one. Believing in the rapture or not is not a determining factor. Accepting Jesus Christ as our Savior, believing that he is the Son of God, that He died on the cross for our sins, was buried, arose, and sets on the right side of GOD the father and will return for His children very soon. Maranatha !!!!!!!

Fred, May I , respectfully, ask you why you would judge the status of his salvation? What is it based on? Mr. Murray of Sheppards Chappel would be considered organized religion in my opinion. I don't consider all organized religion bad or evil! It sounds like you have "lumped" all Americans together in your statement. Just because those things are the law, doesn't mean that we agree with them. That would indicate that you are also unsaved. I do not mean to disrespect your beliefs at all! We have a very good friend that is a follower of Mr. Murray and he is a wonderful Christian man that I respect and love very much!

My opinion and $5.00 will get you a cup of coffee anywhere in this nation. In America we elect our government. Martin Luther King led peaceful protest to encourage the government to change laws that were unjust. This generation has changed America for the worse. Martin Luther King has been replaced with Al Sharpton, Snoop Dogg, and Dr. Dre.
