Chapter 1

This is a chapter by chapter and verse by verse study of God’s letter to everyone contained in the King James Bible. To get the best and most clear understanding get a King James Bible read the verse first and then the comments.
Verse 1 through 17

In spite of the wording of the first verse this is the genealogy of Jesus’ stepfather Joseph. The genealogy of Mary is contained in Luke. The forefathers divide after David.

Verse 18

At the time Joseph was an older man and Mary was around 14. That is why the Holy Spirit was more lenient the Mary’s questions that Joseph’s request for proof. Mary was just a teen-ager while Joseph should have understood from Daniel that the time was right for Christ to be born.

Verse 19

Joseph didn’t want Mary to be killed or shamed; he thought Mary had been with someone else.





Verse 20

God is not afraid to talk to any man. What He has purposed He is able to perform. He knows what is in Joseph’s mind and He tells Joseph to marry and raise the child. Because Joseph is older he has the money and the experience to provide a secure environment for Jesus to spend His childhood in. Something is wrong with society when no one stands for family values. Females are having kids by different men. Men are having kids by different women. I believe the terms are baby-mommies and baby-daddies. If I had even thought about getting multiple girls pregnant and not taking care of the children my father would have shot me in the head. It used to be a time that boys and girls wouldn’t have sex until they were married. Then came the sixties and the hippie revolution, with all the new and fatal diseases and the destruction of the American family I think we call the sixties a failure and try to go back to the old way. I know satan is going to find a way to discredit me. All he has is character assassination because his arguments have no logic. If they did he wouldn’t have to resort to dirty tricks. 1500 years ago he did his best work in the Catholic church. From what I see the Catholic church has more in common with the Sanhedrin that crucified Christ than Jesus and the disciples. Jesus says, “you know a tree by its fruit”. Jesus didn’t kill anybody and taught His disciples to turn the other cheek and love their enemies. During the middle ages in Spain, the Catholic church would torture people until they admitted to acts that in some instances they hadn’t done, and then kill them by public execution, some were burned alive. Jesus never did this or taught that His followers should do this.

Verse 21

If you think you are sinless, you don’t need Jesus. We all need Jesus.

Verse 22 and 23

This was written about 700 years before it happened in Isaiah 7:14.


Verse 24 and 25

Joseph and Mary had other children, they just didn’t have sex until the birth of Christ.

Matthew 1 gives a genealogy of Jesus thru Joseph, but Christians claim Joseph was not his father. Jesus is also a descendant of Jeconiah, who was so wicked, he was precluded from having any of his descendants reign. Verse 11. Jesus cannot inherit the throne. Mary's lineage does not count. The royal Davidic blood line is traced thru the male. A spirit cannot impregnate and Jesus's name is not Emanuel. Jarrett Lawrence Emanuel was born on April 4, 1984, the exact date given on page 6 of George Orwell's novel, 1984. 1984 was "the acceptable year of the Lord". Isaiah 61:2.
