Going the e-mail rounds. Got this from a friend in England.

BLESSED ARE THE CRACKED, FOR THEY LET IN THE LIGHT!

Ever walk into a room with some purpose in mind, only to completely forget what that purpose was?
Turns out, doors themselves are to blame for these strange memory lapses.
Psychologists at the University of Notre Dame have discovered that passing through a doorway triggers
what's known as an Event Boundary in the mind, separating one set of thoughts and memories from the next.
Your brain files away the thoughts you had in the previous room and prepares a blank slate for the new locale.

Thank goodness for studies like this. It's not our age, it's that damn door!
Did I send this to you already from the other room?

In psychological circles it's some time known as "loss of immediate recall". In my circle it's known as "immediate loss of recall".

Unfortunately yes, but that was a long time ago. I am so glad to see you here today. I was afraid you had gone to that great buffalo hunt in the sky. How are you my old friend?

Yep. My ex wife smoked it all the time. I tried to get her to stop for thirty days. I told her she would get her memory back, and have a sharp mind and a lot more energy. She couldn't do it though until she was forced to by the justice dept. Now she just takes a lot of pills legally. What a shame. I don't know if she has ever been sober since she was twelve.
