Some uncomfortable t***hs

This campaign season has seen a great surge in emotional responses to various rhetoric, depending on who is saying it and what they're saying. The t***h is, very little of the "plans" and "agendas" raising such emotional highs, are practical, or even possible. Many "facts" are presented at debates, town hall meetings and the 1000 campaign events, but few of them are ACTUAL facts, they're actually just - rhetoric.

I've given examples of the incredible amounts of YOUR money wasted by various Government agencies, yet that seems to draw little attention here. I had assumed that "anger" would have been generated by this wasted money - but I was wrong - that isn't the area where people want to vent their anger. We want to be angry at i*****l a***ns, not about Border Patrol spending 1.6 billion dollars on a sensor array, bid by Boeing at 125 million - that didn't work and had to be scrapped. Why aren't we getting angry, that companies bid for Government contracts - then are NOT held to that bid? With any other company or person, when Boeing had been paid 125 million and their product didn't work, they would have been required to REFUND that money - but Border Patrol ( therefor DHS ) gave them MORE money - to see if they could get it to work, until it became obvious they could not - then we cancelled their contract - and they got to keep the 1.6 billion we already spent. Did we hear any of THAT on the campaign trail? No! But we DID hear about defunding Planned Parenthood, which has been cleared of wrong doing - because THAT subject brings the most cheers.

The t***h is, most of the "issues" being raised by both campaigns is hogwash, but it sells and buys v**es - and that is all that the candidates are concerned about. Here's another uncomfortable t***h: Should ALL welfare programs be cancelled - that still leaves a 400 billion dollar deficit. Don't take my word for it ( or theirs, for God's sake ), look at the budget, which is available online - and do the math yourself. Then ask yourself how these candidates plan to eliminate the 400 billion dollar deficit - with a tax cut. Remember, that deficit REMAINS after they cut the programs that everyone get so excited about. The t***h THERE is; they don't plan to.

Here's the other half of that uncomfortable t***h: Had the waste I've mentioned been eliminated, the fraudulent monies paid been paid back and the abuses eliminated - there would have been a 100 billion dollar SURPLUS. Why aren't the candidates talking about THAT and why aren't people angry that they're NOT? The answer is; because the candidates don't care, the MSM doesn't care - and as long as folks anger can be directed at i*****l a***ns, welfare moochers and terrorists - the people don't care either.

If Government contractors were held to the same standards and contract obligations that the contractors hold their subcontractors to - we'd save 100's of billion dollars a year - and get stuff that actually worked. Why don't we DO that? Answer; because that's how favors are repaid by our elected officials - allowing certain contractors to raid the treasury, for as much as they want. THAT'S why we don't hear these things from candidates - because it's an uncomfortable t***h

Were our Government to operate with efficiency and with out the graft and corruption that's standard business as usual - we could have our taxes cut by 50% AND have a budget surplus every year - without cutting any domestic programs at all. That's the t***h, verify it yourself - if you really care about America. I have yet to hear a single thing, from any candidate of any party - that has any REAL substance to it. It sounds good, gets people excited and maybe gets v**es - but does NOTHING for America or Americans. We are being "taken for a ride", stolen from and held hostage by our own Government - and we are complicit in our own demise - because WE don't want to face these uncomfortable t***hs. We feel better being lied to. Well, some do - I sure as hell don't feel better - it pisses me off.

The t***h of the matter is there is no party anymore other than the elitist of Criminal Hill over We, the People..Yet, our system far exceeds that of other countries and is ever evolving..Not necessarily in the right direction, but it will turn around..

Comes a point, like everything else, lp, that once you hit rock bottom you can only rise above it..

We're there and We, the People can make it happen....We are only needed for v**es and our money...

They want both especially now..Make your v**e matter, make the change this country needs and stay on their butts once in office...We tolerate far too much and accept less as the way it is~~ It is only if we continue to let it be status quo.....Are you done yet?? I know I am....

That is how the left and right hands of the corporate party keep the sheople distracted.

Why aren't the politicians pandering for our v**es demanding an accounting of the $3 BILLION of taxpayer money that the DOD cannot even account for since 9/11. Think of how far that tax payer money would have gone to repairing infrastructure and helping the poor and unemployed. Instead those monies were stolen and/or wasted to benefit some giant military contractors that are never held accountable.

Linda; Unfortunately too many Americans don't understand or want to believe the ugly t***h you remark on here; America is at war. The enemy is the army of 536 inside the Beltway, with unimaginable power and greed; against 320 million people who just want to live their lives...the 536 make ISIS look like Little Bo Peep...

Anyone doubting this reality should think about the past two mid-terms. Twice America has implored the (alleged) opposition party to intercede on behalf of the people. And twice the 'party' has, with absolute arrogance and impunity abandoned the people and joined with the enemy; completing the 536...

I would argue only one point you make a little differently; when rock bottom is hit one would hope that there is no place to go but to rebuild. I fear though that an important lesson of history is that unless the people rise up the enemy will grind their blood and bone into that hard, rock bottom beyond capitulation and into s***ery to the 'system'.

So as you say, make your v**e count, stay on their asses forever after and fire them frequently...Otherwise, get used to the boot on our necks pushing our faces into that cold rock bottom...

I agree, but I don't think we've hit bottom yet, not enough of us anyway. I know I'M drowning and can see the bottom and between you and me - those rocks look razor sharp.

I'm afraid that when the rest of the folk hit rock bottom - it's going to cut them to pieces. That's why I'm h*****g on for dear life - I don't want those knot heads on top of me. :?

Yes we can...once we figure out what part of a constitutional "government of the people, by the people, for the people" that we seem to have forgotten and become to complacent to uphold...

Unfortunately, when people become fed up they just v**e for the opposite party thinking that might change things, but nothing ever changes, yet people keep trying the same road. I wonder if they will wake up if they elect a Trump or Cruz or Rubio and find things still don't change. What will they do? Probably wait til the next e******n and v**e for Hillary. That's how things work, and it never changes. It makes no difference who is in power. Those in power are controlled by the real masters behind the scenes. And people never wake up.

We've been playing on this teeter totter for about 100 years - and whenever we slow down to see where we're at - the two party's come together to distract us with something and get us swinging again. A war or two, an epidemic - something.

Then we go back to happily swinging up and down, up and down - and forgotten all about it.
