Have you noticed your obsession with h**e and rage? Seems every time you start a thread, you focus entirely on "anger", "rage", "h**e" or any other negative emotion you can think of. And it all seems to be "out there" somewhere, afflicting a whole bunch of people, like an epidemic to which you remain immune.

Is it kindness that drives you? Is it compassion that inspires you? Does love compel you to condemn so many?

Our country, and the world in general, is on the fast track to hell. The economy is on the brink, wars are escalating, bloodshed, murder and mayhem are the headlines today, racial tensions are growing more violent, governments are out of control, coercion, intimidation, persecution, and confusion rule the day, people are losing their livelihoods, their land, their homes, their children.

Ah but, everything is just peachy, Glaucon, nothing but unicorns and rainbows.

What's not to like?

A sad sack pathetic man working at a s**tty job takes eight or ten hours of abuse from his half bright prick of a boss. He eats it because there is no union to protect him and he needs the money. He go's home and his wife feeds him some lukewarm slop at which point he explodes berating the person he loves most in the world. His defeated wife, s**k of subsisting on his paltry wages and abuse smacks their twelve year old son for being mouthy. The twelve year old storming out of the room shoves down his kid sister for no reason other than her being in his way, she bumps her head cries and within minutes has kicked the dog who is sleeping on her blanket.

The angry voices here are behaving the same way. They have made poor decisions in their life and are unwilling to accept responsibility for the results. They don't have the guts or smarts to understand, much less confront the true source of their misery. Instead they express h**e and anger to everyone not like them that they percieve as being of lower stature. Personal failure and misery is not their own fault it is the fault of people of color, immigrants, gays and Muslums. They collectively h**e the government because the government won't crack down on those people they desperatly want to use as scapegoats for their own failure. And all the while they are sycophants to the boss who abuses them, and the rich men they envy. They do this until they are old men because they think they eventualy will join the landed gentry; besides if they ever realize the t***h they have too much invested in the lifelong lie they have told themselves to face reality without swallowing a gun barrel.

RESPONSE:
Another angerholic heard from. Liberty Tree employees an additional defense against self awareness and is aggressive in attacking the messenger. He/she uses the time honored deflection and most of all, the handy YOO TOO strategy of which we should all be aware by now. I think you would be very surprised at what others around you are smart enough to see, but will you will probably continue to do wh**ever is necessary to not see what others see.

Have you noticed the amount of rage on OPP? How many posts express nothing but the poster's rage? Have you noticed that those who are responsible for the most h**eful and vile comments always claim they have no anger, rage, , but their words reveal that their rage and expose themselves as lying or self deluded?

Anger can become addictive.
Anger addiction is biochemical problem. Like victims of alcohol or substance abuse, the "angerholic" is hostage to a host of body reactions, one of which is an upsurge of adrenalin that generates a sense of invincibility.
According to James C. Tanner,rage addiction produces a "Superman" scenario, in which one feels powerful, galvanized for action.
Anger can bring on a "rush" that feels "so strong and good" that many "want to experience it again and again." Rage releases biochemical and neural changes in the body that can become self-consuming with repetition. Like alcohol, the binge of outrage becomes a necessary evil.
