2 A******n Foes Behind Planned Parenthood Videos Are Indicted
By MANNY FERNANDEZJAN. 25, 2016
HOUSTON — A grand jury here that was investigating accusations of misconduct against Planned Parenthood has instead indicted two a******n opponents who made undercover videos of the organization.
Prosecutors in Harris County said one of the leaders of the Center for Medical Progress — an anti-a******n group that made secretly recorded videos purporting to show Planned Parenthood officials trying to illegally profit from the sale of fetal tissue — had been indicted on a charge of tampering with a governmental record, a felony, and on a misdemeanor charge related to purchasing human organs.
That leader, David Daleiden, 26, the director of the center, had posed as a biotechnology representative to infiltrate Planned Parenthood affiliates and surreptitiously record his efforts to procure tissue for research. Another center employee, Sandra Merritt, was indicted on a felony charge of tampering with a governmental record.
A******n opponents claimed that the videos, which were released starting in July, revealed that Planned Parenthood was engaged in the illegal sale of body parts — a charge that the organization has denied and that has not been supported in numerous congressional and state investigations triggered by the release of the videos.
On Monday, the Harris County district attorney, Devon Anderson, said in a statement that grand jurors had cleared Planned Parenthood of any wrongdoing.
She declined to provide details about the case against Mr. Daleiden and Ms. Merritt, including any documents or evidence presented to the grand jury, citing state law on the secrecy of grand jury proceedings.
“As I stated at the outset of this investigation, we must go where the evidence leads us,” Ms. Anderson said. “All the evidence uncovered in the course of this investigation was presented to the grand jury. I respect their decision on this difficult case.”
The release of the videos last summer created a furor and gave new strength to the conservative drive to defund Planned Parenthood. The organization was forced to apologize for the casual tone that one of its officials used to discuss a possible t***sfer of fetal tissue to what she believed was a legitimate medical company. But Planned Parenthood said the fees being discussed were to cover costs and were legal.
Gov. Greg Abbott, a Republican, said on Monday that the inspector general of the state’s Health and Human Services Commission and the Texas attorney general’s office have been investigating Planned Parenthood’s actions.
“Nothing about today’s announcement in Harris County impacts the state’s ongoing investigation,” Mr. Abbott said in a statement. “The State of Texas will continue to protect life, and I will continue to support legislation prohibiting the sale or t***sfer of fetal tissue.”
The state attorney general, Ken Paxton, said in a statement: “The fact remains that the videos exposed the horrific nature of a******n and the shameful disregard for human life of the a******n industry. The state’s investigation of Planned Parenthood is ongoing.”The case here started in August, when Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, a Republican and an outspoken opponent of a******n and Planned Parenthood, asked Ms. Anderson to open a criminal investigation into the organization. His request came after the release of an undercover video recorded at a Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast office in Houston with a research official for the organization. Mr. Patrick said the video showed the group “discussing the gruesome and barbaric work of Planned Parenthood and what appears to be its profiteering from selling body parts from aborted babies.”
Ms. Anderson, a Republican who was appointed district attorney by Gov. Rick Perry in 2013 and was later elected to the office, described the investigation on Monday as “lengthy and thorough,” and said it involved her office, the Houston police and the Texas Rangers. She said the grand jury reviewed the joint inquiry for more than two months.
This month in federal court in San Francisco, Planned Parenthood sued the center, Mr. Daleiden and other a******n opponents involved in the videos. The suit accused them of engaging in a three-year criminal enterprise to target the group.
“These people broke the law to spread malicious lies about Planned Parenthood in order to advance their extreme anti-a******n political agenda,” Eric Ferrero, a spokesman for the Planned Parenthood Federation of America, said in a statement Monday. “As the dust settles and the t***h comes out, it’s become totally clear that the only people who engaged in wrongdoing are the criminals behind this fraud, and we’re glad they’re being held accountable.”
In a statement Monday night, Mr. Daleiden said: “The Center for Medical Progress uses the same undercover techniques that investigative journalists have used for decades in exercising our First Amendment rights to freedom of speech and of the press, and follows all applicable laws. We respect the processes of the Harris County district attorney, and note that buying fetal tissue requires a seller as well. Planned Parenthood still cannot deny the admissions from their leadership about fetal organ sales captured on video for all the world to see.”
In making the videos, Mr. Daleiden and others have been accused of setting up a f**e company called Biomax Procurement Services, creating f**e identities and claiming to be part of a legitimate provider of fetal tissue to researchers. The charge of tampering with a governmental record appeared to be related to Mr. Daleiden’s and Ms. Merritt’s use of f**e ID cards. “We know that they used f**e IDs that had their real photographs but f**e names and f**e addresses purported to be issued by the state of California,” said Josh Schaffer, a Houston lawyer who represents Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast in the Harris County criminal investigation. Mr. Daleiden and Ms. Merritt presented those IDs to security at the Planned Planned office to gain entry to the building. “They never denied that they presented a f**e ID,” Mr. Schaffer said.
Mr. Schaffer said he believed the misdemeanor charge stemmed from laws prohibiting offers to buy fetal tissue. He said that following the meeting with Planned Parenthood officials in Houston, Mr. Daleiden sent an email to them offering to buy fetal tissue for $1,600 per sample.
“It does not surprise me that a grand jury that chose to correctly apply the law to the evidence that was presented would return this result,” Mr. Schaffer said. “The written charges have not been released publicly yet, so at this point I am working on my knowledge of the investigation.”

So, they are charged with making a f**e ID and offering to conduct business with PP.

How can the republic survive with such criminals on the loose...

The f*****ts have won round one. Smile, click your heels, and enjoy it while it lasts. Take some of the money from the baby parts and throw yourselves a party.

It's a long battle, and the 1st Amendment taken bigger slaps from bigger boys than this h**eful little group of baby k**lers.

The Bill of Rights has taken it's hits from the left. But it's still standing. And you have barely scratched it.

I thought there were a lot fewer big words in this piece and you might be able to understand it, but I guess understanding it would still require a reasonably open mind and reading it to get much benefit.

Have you heard about stem cell research? I have a friend who donated his body to a medical school and he doesn't have to pay for his burial expenses. I think he sold his whole body with all of its parts. I think he is some kind of a flaming liberal and you know how they are.

Didn't you people object that it was unconstitutional when the majority of us chose a black guy for president? I think you have a different constitution than we do. Luck with it. If Texas is able to think clearly, I think all is well.

It's illegal to alter a******ns for the purpose of harvesting the child's parts.

If you recall, the woman videoed was lusting for a Lamborghini, not to cure the world's ills.

There are a lot of people that justify the slaughter of innocent lives. Cannibalism isn't the only reason they give.

The majority of us did not choose a black guy for President. Only the majority of those who bothered to v**e. Be that as it may, it is not the Right that declared the Constitution to be a living document, i.e., constantly changing. Texas, like every state, has it's share of L*****t activists who can't see the forest for the trees.

The First Amendment seems to be only protected by your ilk when it protects gay rights parades and N**I marchers. The freedom to speak applies to all Americans, even the ones you don't like.

RESPONSE:

I think you are getting your undies all bunched up over some things that are only in your mind.

It's illegal to alter a******ns for the purpose of harvesting the child's parts.
RESPONSE: I think it is right that it is illegal to alter a******ns for the purpose of harvesting the child parts and anyone doing so should suffer the consequences of such an immoral act. However, that is not something that is happening or has happened, so don’t sweat it.

If you recall, the woman videoed was lusting for a Lamborghini, not to cure the world's ills.
RESPONSE: What kind of mother do you think the mother would have been if she had been forced to raise a kid?

There are a lot of people that justify the slaughter of innocent lives. Cannibalism isn't the only reason they give.

RESPONSE: I can’t think of anyone or any reason for the slaughter of innocent lives. As far as I know, that is immoral and illegal and should be punished accordingly.

You do get in a rage over things you don't understand. Every sane American knows OUR Constitution is a living document and must be for our survival. You dismissal of Obama's victory and a second victory should not be trivialized.

Calm you irrational fears.

Don't you think they should be charged for criminal behavior? Some people think Hillary and Obama should be convicted for imaginary crimes because you dinks don't like them. That doesn't sound very constitutional.

Do you think we should pry the b****t from their cold dead hands and v**e for them? If they don't have the motivation to v**e, who the fuck cares what they want or what they think. We need to continue and try to do what is best for all of us and not try to pry the six pack from their cold dead hands.

Do you understand what it means to be a living document? Do you know who declared it to be such? You should look it up and you will discover that the great Liberal icon who did the deed also said of the constitution, it was a dead document. Look it up, learn something, and explain how we share the same Constitution when the Left says it, the Constitution, is irrelevant.

The laws are quite specific in the cases of Hillary and Obama and the laws they violated are well known to them and to anyone who cares to learn the facts. As for "dinks", I am quite certain your familiarity with those is unimpeachable.

I'm much more concerned about the cold, dead brains that make remarks like the quote above.

Actually, that is exactly one of the things that was proven by the videos that the N**I Klan is trying to prosecute people for making. Just FYI - If there was nothing to hide, they wouldn't be going to such extreme measures to hide them.

Probably lousy.
1. Nobody said she should be forced to raise the kid.
2. There are million of lousy parents. Chicago alone has a bunch. Do you really think k*****g the kids is the solution?

Unlike GW, it is an absolute 100% proven fact that unborn human beings are living, individual, human living beings. There is no dissent among medical specialists.
