Snowzilla brings down the House

Washington Examiner

By DANIEL CHAITIN
The House of Representatives will not be v****g on any bills this week because of the massive snowstorm that hit the D.C. metro region this weekend.

In a memo from the House majority leader, members have been advised that due to the severity of the weather and the poor travel conditions, previously scheduled v**es on Tuesday, Jan. 26 and Wednesday, Jan. 27, have been postponed. The next v**es are now scheduled for Monday, Feb. 1.

More than 10,000 flights along the East Coast have been cancelled due to this weekend's winter storm, which has dumped around 2 feet of snow in and around Washington, D.C.

Also postponed is the consideration of two pieces of legislation: H.R. 3662, the "Iran Terror Finance T***sparency Act" and the veto message on H.R. 3762, "Restoring Americans' Healthcare Freedom Act," a bill that would dismantle Obamacare and cut Planned Parenthood funding.

President Obama vetoed the "Restoring Americans' Healthcare Freedom Act" on Jan. 8 after both the House and the Senate passed it using a budget reconciliation process that prevented a Democratic filibuster in the Senate.

Consideration of the two items will commence the Feb. 1.

No v**es were scheduled for the end of the week as the Democrats have their annual retreat starting on Wednesday in Baltimore, Md.

The Senate is postponing v**es until Wednesday.

Meanwhile the Office of Personnel and Management announced Sunday evening that the federal government in the Washington, D.C.-area will be closed on Monday. Emergency and telework-ready employees required to work have been instructed to follow their agencies' policies.

There has not been and will no be a government shutdown. Only thing ever shutdown has been a few things like War memorials, White House Tours, some national parks, etc. generally it cost more to shutdown than to keep them open

Every government employee who was "laid off" was quietly paid every cent a few weeks later.

The best part of "government shut down" is that the politicians go home and are not writing more and more and more useless and tyrannical laws for us, NOT THEM, to OBEY.
